Snow games in the Big Sky
A nice little cold front coming down from Canada. Snow is always a great equalizer. This week in the Big Sky, snow could fall for three of the five games...
Missoula: Cold, possible snow
Bozeman: Windy, possible snow
Greeley: Wind and snow
Cheney: Cool
Sacramento: Snow? What the hell is snow?
Should make for some interesting games...

Hey, dude. It's snowed as far south as Lodi. Not enough to stick, mind you, since something like the early '70s. But it has snowed this decade.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

What about next week? Is there snow to be expected in Ogden?

It may not snow in Sacramento, but it does a lot 40 minutes to the east.

It is way early to trust a forecast, but the forecast calls for next Saturday right now calls for "Partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 50s. Lows in the upper 20s." http://www.weathercentral.com/weather/u ... ogden.htmlSDHornet wrote:What about next week? Is there snow to be expected in Ogden?

Re: Snow games in the Big Sky
Takes a lot to have snow on a game day. Needs to be cold enough for snow to form during the day before mid-November, playing the game outdoors (no domes) and have it happen on a Saturday (no other day of the week). Highly unusual, even for those teams in the north.
Cal Poly, a warm weather southern California team, stayed with the Griz in cold Missoula for three quarters. It does get cold in Flagstaff, but Northern Arizona plays in a dome (Skydome), yet they were able to grab the win at cold Bozeman. Portland State, where it does snow but usually not until December, got the win at snowy Greeley (where by the way, major league baseball deemed it too cold to play the Rockies playoff game 60 miles south in Denver).

I don't know why, but I'm kinda hopin' for snow next weekend in Missoula for the EWU/Griz matchup. I've been there twice and both times it was sunny and nice.JALMOND wrote:Takes a lot to have snow on a game day. Where were you sitting? I was on the East side sitting in the sun all day and really enjoyed the weather.Grizaholic17 wrote:The game in Missoula was FREEZING. Playoff games don't even get that cold.

Yeah the East Side was great, but holy shit at half time we went up to the concourse & stood in line for concessions, I can't remember ever being that cold!SeattleGriz wrote:Where were you sitting?
