Most of the praise for Appalachian State the past few years has been heaped upon the team’s powerful offenses.

This season, the Mountaineers’ experienced defense could attract their fair share of recognition.

“I think the defense is going to be pretty good,” middle linebacker Jacque Roman said. “I think the chemistry is there. Everyone is used to playing with each other.”
