This is the first firing of a coach with a decent record; Lamb went 41-39 in 7 seasons. He went 10-2 in Mercer's lone Pioneer season in 2013, then his next 5 years all had records that involved 5's & 6's, then he went 4-8 in 2019.

Mercer should compete for SoCon championships and playoff berths. No reason not to. Never really understood the hire unless Mercer just assumed they'd be in the PFL for life.

Lenoir-Rhyne HC Drew Cronic is the replacement. Lenoir-Rhyne went 25-3 the last 2 years and made the DII quarterfinals this year.
