Tomorrow: the rest of the playoff conferences.
The Tigers of TSU had 5 defensive starters out for that game and Tech's defense sacked TSU QB Ronald Butler numerous times made him look human!!!!
Best Performance: (#13) Central Arkansas 31, Nicholls St. 24 - Bear DB Tyler Williams defends 7 total passes: 2 INTs and 5 breakups.
Central Arkansas has a lot of potential. But they make a lot of mistakes. Last week I said I was impressed that they made a lot of mistakes against SFA but won by 20 points. I watched the game against Nicholls State. They dropped THREE touchdown passes and had 11 penalties for 135 yards.
However, in this game they played their worst game of the year on defense and actually might have lost if Nicholls hadn't had 4 turnovers to end up with a -3 in the giveaway/takeway stat. Nicholls State out gained them by 471 to 382 in total yards.
I don't know what to make of it. Nicholls State is like Jekyll and Hyde. They take Georgia to the brink and lose to McNeese by 25. They clearly have potential to play with anybody but you never know what you're going to get from them.
But there is no question that Central Arkansas can't be doing things like dropping three touchdown passes and having 11 penalties for 135 yards during the de-facto conference championship game at Sam Houston State.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star? Deep Purple: No One Came
Best Performance: Fordham 54, Holy Cross 14 - Chase Edmonds runs for 4 touchdowns, breaking Jordan Scott's Patriot League record for career rushing TDs.
Worst Performance: Georgetown 7, Bucknell 21 - The Hoyas haven't scored more than 20 points since their season-opening win over Davidson.
Best Performance: Duquesne 31, Sacred Heart 10 - The 7-3 Dukes are now out of the auto-bid running, but it does seem possible they could come out of nowhere an steal an at-large from an unsuspecting bubble team.
Worst Performance: Robert Morris 5, Wagner 40 - I don't what's sadder: that RMU lost to Wagner at home by 35, or that 168 yards of offense is actually above their season average.
Most Surprising Result: Sacred Heart 10, Duquesne 31 - The Pioneers were doing well a few weeks ago, but now they've lost 3 straight to the exact same teams they lost 3 straight to last year.
