Battle of the last two conference unbeatens.

McNeese is 5-0, and has allowed double-digit points only once.

UCA has scored 42+ in each of their three Southland Conference wins.

Should be a similar score to last weeks McNeese game. They should win by 14.

I haven't seen UCA play except for a little bit of a replay of their game at Oklahoma State but I will say that, fingers crossed, I think McNeese has a couple of things that are crucial to a defense. First, they have a dominant pair of defensive tackles. One is a 335 pound transfer from Texas A&M who started six games for the Aggies as a Freshman. In him they basically have a legitimate SEC caliber big body defensive tackle. The other is smaller, at around 290, but also very good. When those two are in the game it is very hard to run the ball right at them. And as usual they have a lot of speed on defense so it's hard to run laterally.

The other thing they appear to have this year is corners who can cover people 1 on 1 so they can blitz and not get burned too much.

But we'll see. Southeastern Louisiana looked to have a very strong running game going into last week's game but I don't know if they had the passing game to make people back off if their running game was stopped.. Southeastern was used to being able to get physical running the ball and that wasn't going to happen with the defensive tackles McNeese has this year. Central Arkansas appears to be more balanced.
