he Escondido, Calif.-based craft brewery, the 10th largest of its kind in the United States, plans to expand its operation to the East Coast this year - a move that promises to bring nearly 400 jobs and a $29 million investment to the host city that lands it.

Charleston County is reportedly to be angling for the investment. Published reports suggest a host of other communities east of the Mississippi also are seeking to win the deal, including Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Lexington County, Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro and a host of other communities from Pennsylvania to Tennessee.

Yuengling is a good example. Bought Stroh's in Tampa but the beer doesn't taste anything like the original Vitamin Y from PA.

Not really. But it's a lot better than AB which I'm sure some here would cite as a brewer with mulitple locations that taste the same.

I honestly don't understand the fascination with New Belgium. Fat Tire is a decent beer, at best. Their other beers that I've had, mediocre. Not bad, but certainly not on par with Rogue, Dogfish, Flying Dog, etc.

Agreed, but they have several pretty good brews. Of the four listed, I've had the least experience with Rogue. Flying Dog is my #1 by far. DFH sometimes tries too hard IMO. Sam's book on brewing isn't called "Extreme Brewing" for nothing. The problem with Rogue for me is I can only find 2-3 varieties. Just looked on their website...

I miss Total Wine...that's where I used to get my Rogue beers. I think I've seen about 10 of those beers up here. Holy crap there's alot of stuff I haven't seen though.

I haven't tried more than 3 or 4 of DFH's 'extreme' brews, but I've liked them all. Of course, some of them I can only have one glass of for one reason or another, but they have always been good. Otherwise, their 'standard' beers are excellent.

You know who sucks? Peak Organic. E.V.E.R.Y. single one of their beers is crap. And since they are a Northeast beer I see them everywhere.

I love juniper so was very excited to try this. I really felt the juniper flavor was too weak. I really didn't notice it much at all.
