The receptionist for a local eye doctor called to remind a student that he had an appointment. Naturally, the student wasn't available because he was at school. The call went to voicemail; the kid's outgoing message was the theme song from Fresh Prince of Bel Air. There is a spot in the song in which Will Smith raps about "shooting some b-ball outside the school." Malfunctioning ears took that as "shooting some people outside the school." Yes, the police had the proper response within half an hour of the report, but a kid was detained by the cops for three hours because someone can't hear. SMH....
