I'am picking Cal Poly in a upset if they use play action passing early in the game and hit the occasional deep ball.

I'am picking Cal Poly in a upset if they use play action passing early in the game and hit the occasional deep ball with Josh Swaney 6-5 225 if he is their deep threat.

NDSU
UNH
GA So
ODU
MSU
SHSU (but a CP win would NOT surprise me)
App
EWU

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

That's a distinct possibility, but with EWU and MSU in their half of the bracket, I have a hard time seeing them pull it off. Plus, it'll be tough to get past SHSU.

NDSU
Wofford
Georgia Southern
Old Dominion

I don't see any surprises on that side of the bracket, all home teams win.

Stony Brook
Sam Houston
Illinois State
Eastern Washington

I think Stony Brook can upset MSU, and Ill State wins a toss up.

Like I said if Cal Poly use play action passing they could pull it off.I hope Josh Swaney has the deep speed help out he at 6-5 225 definitely has enough size.

SHSU is playing better than any other team and has the game at home. Then you've got probable road games in Bozeman and Cheney or Boone. The odds of CP getting to Frisco are somewhere in the area of 100 to 1...

Care to expand on that? I agree that SHSU is a top team in FCS.....but I guess I'm not sure what you mean? ...what is it that they have done that implies they are playing better than "any other team"

They beat the snot out of a few very bad teams and lost to a good one...e.g. they won the games they should have and lost the game that they should have. Beating the crap out of Southeastern Louisiana and Northwestern St is ok but those teams are average competition at best.

Montana St hasn't lost a game since EWU.... they beat a very good Sac St on the road.

NDSU is on a 5 game win streak including a win against SDSU

ODU is also on a 5 game win streak

I actually think it is very difficult to say how good SHSU really is because of who they have played. People keep pointing out Texas AM and Baylor....they lost those games.

Outside of McNeese the games they have won were against below average teams.... :coffee:

Agree with this except SB....I think MSU wins at home.

Well... since the SFA game (6 games) they've

Outscored FCS teams 264 to 34
Outgained FCS teams 2584 to 1056

Those are numbers you'd expect a top team to put up... against the Pioneer Conference (or worse) :coffee:

The other top teams have been rolling along, but not absolutely steamrolling everyone. Hell, most of them have struggled with quite a few mediocre-to-bad FCS teams in that 6 game span, see MSU; at Sac, at Montana, against Davis, ODU; against Delaware, against W&M, NDSU; against SIU, at MSU, etc.

Ok.... I guess I just don't agree. By your logic I should consider Cal Poly's thrashing of Idaho State more indicative of how good they are playing than their road win at NAU.

Winning on the road in Sac or at Montana says a lot more about how well a team is playing than beating the pulp out of a piss poor team at home. SHSU is a very good team but that's not because they can put up 80 points on The Barbazon School of Basket Weaving.

SELA was 5-6 (same record as Montana) with two FBS losses. McNeese was 7-4. But they played like Idaho State against SHSU
