There are probably quite a few that should be on the seat, but would take an act of God for them to actually be fired.
In the CAA I'd put Jack Cosgrove on my hot seat if I'm in charge at Maine. You could say it's tough sledding for him being way up in Maine, but given what UNH has done the last 7 seasons and the fact that Maine seemed to be on the verge of breaking into the next level back in 2001-02... back to back losing seasons, one trip to the playoffs in the last 8 years... another 5-6 season and...
Pat Sullivan is 19-25 overall entering his fifth season as Samford's head coach ... 4-7 last year.
First up in 2011: Georgia Southern at home on Sept 3rd
They beat GSU at The Stink last year but lost 25 or so seniors coming into 2011. Sullivan hired a bunch of new coaches. They've got Elon, Western & Chatty at home after GSU.
If Pat can't win at least two of his home SoCon games (and beat Gardner-Webb at home) I suspect he will be joining the ranks of the unemployed at season's end.
Which fittingly, will come at Auburn.

I agree with the first part of your post. These coaches are coaching at FCS schools not Alabama, Texas, Florida, Notre Dame, and so on.

Those definitely have a lot more pressure, but if I'm a school Prez or AD and I see schools that are in similar situations have their teams go to the playoffs, occassionaly beat I-A's, show up on ESPN every once in a while and my school is not... some changes need to be made. There are too many good coaches out there to stay with your guy.
Not on the hot seat quite yet, but I imagine Mickey Matthews seat is getting pretty warm lately. With that new stadium and two years displaced from the playoffs, I can't believe JMU fans will be happy with anything less than a trip to the post-season this year.
Also, Danny Rocco has gotta be another one who's seat is getting hotter by the day.

Rocco is not on the hot seat.
I don't know about administratively, but when I venture over to FlamesFans once in a blue moon, a lot of the fans sure seem to be tired of Rocco. That's why I think it, but maybe it's just a case of the few shouting the loudest.

Agreed about MM. It will get very ugly in Harrisonburg is JMU doesn't make the playoffs. With the new stadium and # of starters back, 6-5 combined with the off the field issues last winter don't think would get MM fired, but would put him on real thin ice.

Kevin Higgins might be in trouble if we do not see some improvement in the W-L category. I'd say a 5-win season and he keeps his job (since that would be a marked improvement).

No-one in the Big Sky seems to be on the hot seat, since ISU and NoCo just hired new coaches.
Pflugrad is contracted through 2012, so it would take a very bad season for him to be canned after 2011. Jerome Souers just signed a 3-year extension, so he should be fine for now. There's no reason to think the other coaches would be in trouble in the short term.

But he has a 3rd year in his contract, and um cant afford to fire him over a little thing like missing the playoffs.
Oh, the for sale signs will be put there in the dark of night by disgruntled fans....I don't think there's ANY possible scenario in which Pflu is gone after this year, no matter the result.
