LEHIGH FINISHES DUAL SEASON RANKED #8; EIWA SOARS.

For the third year in row the Mountain Hawks have finished in the top 8 in the last coaches' poll. Only Iowa and Cornell have also finished in the top 8 during the same time span. Lehigh started the season with a pre-season ranking of #15 and have consistently improved with only one senior on the team. Now, entering the all-important championship tournaments, the EIWA championships are next weekend at Bucknell, who hosts the nation's oldest wrestling tournament for the first time. Lehigh should have seven wrestlers seeded in the top 2 of their weight classes. Cornell will be the odds-on favorite with current indidual rankings and six wrestlers likely to be seeded first. Cornell also finished the regular season poll #1--the first time an EIWA team has ever done so! In addition, the EIWA had three teams finish in the top 10, as Rutgers finished in that spot. First time in 46 years that the EIWA had three teams in the top ten in the final poll.
