Jase Butorac - OL - 6'3, 280 - Sammamish, Wash. (Skyline HS '10)
-No. 14 spot on Scout.com's final top-25 for the state of Washington
-Also recruited and offered scholarships from BYU and Air Force

I don't think Stefo had an offer from CSU. Rivals says no, Scout says yes. However, why would he chose to go to Eastern when he could have stayed home and play FBS?

Ok, never mind. I saw that he did have an offer from CSU but didn't visit. Wow, nice job Eagles. Wonder what things in Cheney that appealed to him most? The beautiful Pacific Northwest Forest and wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean???

Old Dominion
(Some of the top newcomers listed below with comments from our beat writer. Includes transfers from Hofstra (2), Northeastern, and West Virginia)
Ronnie Cameron, 6-3, 295, Jr., DT (Holy Trinity, Hicksville, N.Y./Hofstra): The fire sale at Hofstra after the program was cancelled turned up this gem. Already enrolled in classes.
Dominik Davenport, 6-1, 264, R-Fr., DT (Phoebus High, Hampton, Va./West Virginia): A transfer from West Virginia, Davenport didn't fit the mold with the Mountaineers' 3-4 defensive alignment. Hopes are that ODU's 50 defensive set will suit him better. Joined program this month.
Deron Mayo, 5-11, 214, Sr., DE (Kecoughtan High, Hampton, Va./Hofstra): Older brother Jerod Mayo was NFL defensive rookie of the year for New England Patriots last season. Also a Hofstra fire-sale special. Joined program this month.
Dominique Guinn-Bailey, 6-4, 225, DE (Churchland High, Portsmouth, Va): He runs a 4.6 in the 40, which is crazy-good speed for his size. And he's got a motor that just keeps chugging.
Kenny McAdow, 5-10, 220, R-Fr.,LB (Broad Run High, Ashburn, Va./Northeastern): Left Northeastern in fall after program was discontinued. Enrolled at ODU this month.
Michael Justice, 6-7, 279, OT (West Springfield High, Fairfax, Va.): Can't coach size. You recruit size.
Preston Smith, 6-3, 240, TE (Deep Creek High, Chesapeake, Va.): This guy has a fast-racing motor and the chance to perform at multiple positions for the Monarchs. Can play DE or OG as well.
Dominique Blackman, 6-4, 240, Soph., QB (Carson High, Los Angeles, Calif./Los Angeles Harbor College): He could red-shirt if the Monarchs feel it's in everybody's best interest. But after passing for 3,711 yards and 35 TDs against nine interceptions this past fall, how does a guy like that sit? Look for him to compete with Thomas DeMarco for the quarterback slot. In fact, he already is in conditioning sessions.
Angus Harper, 5-11, 202, Fr., RB (Edison High, Alexandria, Va.): Spurned interest from Pitt and Boston College because the Monarchs told him he could play running back at ODU while others wanted him as a safety. He ran 210 times for 1,396 yards and 19 TDs as a senior. Harper graduated early and has already enrolled at ODU.
Colby Goodwyn, 5-8, 190, RB (Phoebus High, Hampton, Va.): Ran for 1,869 yards and 31 TDs for unbeaten state champs. Enough said.

Rumor is that Pitt RB Shariff Harris (6'1", 225lb) will be a Saluki.

Re: Your school's top recruits?
Here's what Montana has so far. The list itself comes from Paytonlives at egriz. The comments are mine:
QB- Jordan Johnson Eugene, OR 6'0" 180
http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p= ... id=3690324
The Oregon 6A player of the year. Looks like Pflugrad's connections back in Oregon helped the Griz land this one. Pflugrad's son Aaron, a WR at Arizona St., went to the same high school as Johnson. He passed for 92 TDs and ran for 45 more during his high school career running his dad's spread option attack, which many expect Pflugrad to implement at Montana.
OL- William Poehls Chandler AZ 6'8" 310
http://rivals.yahoo.com/sandiegostate/f ... ehls-97493
This kid is huge! Possibly another recruit Montana nabbed thanks to new coaching connections. New WR coach Shalon Baker (who also played WR for the Griz) was coaching high school ball at Chandler High before taking the Griz job.
C- Steve Sabin Scotsdale JC 6'4" Wt: 300
http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p= ... id=4695061
Another Chandler High product with some JC experience. Looks like Montana is trying to restock the 300 lb. OL cupboard.
TE/LB Austin Reifeis Redmond, WA 6'3" 230
http://rivals.yahoo.com/utah/football/r ... eis-103857
Apparently passed up an offer from Hawaii (along with Idaho St. and Illinois St.) to come to Missoula. Not certain at this point what position he'll play.
OL- Trevor Poole Spokane, WA 6'5" 270
http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p= ... id=4264487
For awhile, it looked like he was going to follow his teammate and fellow OL, Kelby Oijland, to UNLV. He was originally recruited by Hauck at Montana and considered following Hauck to Vegas, but ultimately decided on Montana.
QB Shay Smithwick-Hann Kalispell, MT 6'4" 205
http://www.kcfw.com/pages/6204059.php?c ... Id=5464797
His high school coach was former Montana QB Grady Bennett. Bigger than Johnson, but maybe not as suited to a spread offense. He acknowledged that he full well knew that Johnson was coming to Montana too and that he wanted to compete for the QB job, but the article at the above link says he may move to TE.
RB/OLB Brett Kirshner 5'11" 200 Bellevue, WA (Soft verbal- Need confirmation)
http://rivals.yahoo.com/michiganstate/f ... hner-76891
Not sure about this one. He's got a lot of interest from Pac-10 schools and a few Big 10 schools. Can't really find any indication that he's verballed to Montana or not.
DL Alex Bienemann Aurora, CO 6'1" 250
http://www.keci.com/Colorado-defensive- ... na/6222603
Apparently also had an offer from Hauck at UNLV.
