Vlad Ducasse Family Safe In Haiti

Post by Col Hogan »

UMass OG Vladimir Ducasse has finally gotten word that his family survived the earthquake in Haiti...

The NFL prospect left the island nation 8 years ago and has not returned, but his parents and family still reside there...Vlad is now back in classes at Amherst, but is looking for ways to help his native country...
Ducasse, 22, still does not know the details of any property damage. He believes his family has been able to carry on iin reasonably normal fashion, certainly in comparison to less fortunate families.

"I don't know much about the (condition of the) house,'' he said.

He said that he has been in touch with some friends through Facebook.

Ducasse left Haiti for the United States, in search of a better education. He later took up football, where he became a high school star in Stamford, Conn.

Ducasse is projected to be a second or third round pick in the upcoming NFL draft...

I'm glad to hear it, but seriously, is there any such thing as "safe in Haiti"?

Sad to say, but hopefully the billions we're going to pour into rebuilding Haiti yield a better place...

But again, it's good to hear the stories of people finding their loved ones safe and sound - eerily similar to 9/11...

Yeah, it would suck to waste billions to accomplish nothing
