Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down

Post by ChickenMan »

:thumb:
Holy Cross's offense.. played much better than I expected vs Villanova

W&M's defense.. shutout that high powered ( :kisswink: ) Big Sky offense and scored a couple of TDs

W&M's offense.. produced over 400 evenly balanced yrds

SIU.. did what they were supposed to do.. crush a bad team

Montana's offense.. a 34 point quarter

UNH.. went through Lake Charles like 'Katrina"

South Carolina St.. great effort vs ASU.. fluke play kill them

Richmond.. another great escape

EIU.. another lopsided loss for the OVC

Villanova's defense.. poor effort today

McNeese St.. another poor playoff effort

Weber St.. an embarrassing royal ass whipping

Big Sky at larges.. another one and done

South Dakota St.. how do you blow a 27 point 3rd quarter lead???

EWU.. 76 passes

Richmond's offense.. played poorly enough to lose

jones had 118 yds on 15 carries. It wasn't our pass attempts that lost the game it was sfa's offense. Great game jack's!

:thumb:

Appalachian State: It wasn't pretty but the Apps found a way to win. With the win, App claimed its 100th victory this decade.

Montana: can't say enough about that 2nd half comeback, especially the effort in the 4th.

New Hampshire: a convincing win against a good McNeese State

Southern Illinois: a great overall performance

South Carolina State: hats off to Coach Pugh and his Bulldogs. They gave App another close game. This program will be one to watch next year and beyond as it will be interesting to see if they can reload as they will lose key players in Long and Ford (MEAC all-time leading rusher).

Weber State: I didn't think they were a playoff team on Selection Sunday and they proved it in a big way. Goose egg.....

Eastern Illinois: another one and done

McNeese State: terrible showing, simply dreadful for a team that had played so solid this season and was at home.

South Dakota State: hats off to Minnet, he had a hell of a game running the ball and a great season but you CANNOT blow a game like they did today, you just can't.

Especially since the Big Sky at-large went to the title game last year.

Actually, this is the first time since 2005 that a BSC team other than Montana hasn't made it to the quarters.

UNH.. went through Lake Charles like 'Katrina"
Now, do you really want to piss off the people of Southwest La.? Katrina did not go through Lake Charles and Southwest La. Katrina went through southeastern La. and Mississippi, of course New Orleans got all the ink. Our forgotten hurricane was Hurricane Rita not Hurricane Katrina. This is a little bit of a sore point with the people of SW La. especially Cameron Parish which was pretty much wiped out by Rita.

Now, if you say "UNH went through Lake Charles like "Rita"" we can accept that. :)

2 one-and-dones are worse than 1 one-and-done.
Just goes to show that one of those at-larges should have gone to someone else.

Why? So the MVC could have 2 one and dones instead of the BSC?

No...UNI was a qualuity team that could have ground it out with a CAA teem. It is all about match ups. Weber was beaten at the LOS on both sides a gave up. The blowout was on once W&M got the lead...and that was just a matter of time. NEGATIVE yards ruching by WSU...come on!

Weber St: 161 yards total offense, 9 first downs...FOR A GAME...please...tell me what that means? A bad game...??? No.

W&M was not a great offense in the CAA...but they had the best D by far.

UNI's best win is Youngstown State. I'm not sure how they'd magically "grind it out" with W&M.

I think Weber just had an off day, got behind and fell apart. I think W&M is the better team, but the margin was a fluke.

Do some of you Deleware fans have to find ANY reason to slam the Big Sky? UNI did not have a great year so you need to find another team that should have gotten in. Heck, put Liberty in there to mix it up
‎"Born in other countries, yet believing you could be happy in this, our laws acknowledge, as they should do, your right to join us in society, conforming, as I doubt not you will do, to our established rules. That these rules shall be as equal as prudential considerations will admit, will certainly be the aim of our legislatures, general and particular." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Hugh White, 1801

Stop. UNI held fast with several good teams...although they didn't win against their 3 quality opponents,...they came close and had a much better resume than WSU.

Many people said WSU had a shot at W&M. Even I thought there was a SLIVER of a chance since their passing game might have a shot at a few long plays to UPSET W&M. But I didn't think...and nor should anyone have thought, that WSU had a shot at grinding it out versus W&M. No chance...NONE.

UNI., on the other hand, could dispose of a lot of teams in the FCS playoffs. You haven't seen them play. W&M will stop anyone's ground game. But, it is a question of respecting the ground game...and WSU had nothing that resembled a run. UNI would not have had a run game against W&M, they would have have a chance by keeping the game close. That's all you can ask. W&M probably woud have beaten UNI, but not in a blowout.

UNI may not have had a big run game, but they wouldn't have had negative rushing yards.
Plus, who knows how the brackets would have been paired up had the committee picked UNI instead of WSU (which, frankly, neither team really EARNED an at-large anyway).
But, playing the "what if" game regarding UNI is rather meaningless. Just as playing "what if Weber had actually brought an offense".

Simple fact is that the Big Sky's two at-larges got crushed while the MVFC's one at-large had "mighty" Montana on the ropes for 3 quarters before they decided to piss it away in the 4th quarter.

Your "logic" is laughable. And since (like just about every UD fan here) you're just trying to get under BSC fans' skin I'm going to disengage from the discussion. When you are ready to talk rationally about UNI's "chances" let us know. :kisswink:
