The Phils are far enough ahaed they should use this month to get their pitching in order. I'm fine with Halladay and Lee. Worley has pitched great, but I'm not sure I trust him just yet. Oswalt and Hamels need to get the kinks out in the next few weeks. If they need rest pitch Kendrick.

Not to jump past the postseason & the parade but the 2012 schedule came out today:

Red Sox & Rays come to Philly next season, Phils goto Baltimore, Minnesota & Toronto.

Execs in DC have to be pissed off - only one weekend series in DC & it's in early May.

The big Invasion games this year will be in Camden Yards, figure about 10K O's fans & 40K from Philly.

The Phils lose when Oswalt takes the mound. No way I don't start Worley as #4.

BTW, how about losing a series in Houston? Is this the Astros first series win this year? :x

The Phils have had inordinate trouble with the Astros for the past five years at least. I was shocked when we swept the first 3 up in Philly.

Yeah, but the Astros weren't the worst team in baseball for the last five years.

Afternoon game today. Phils up 1-0 after two. Victorino lead off double and Polanco singles him home. Astros laon bases with no outs in 2nd, force at home, double play, out of jam. :thumb:

Meh. It's a head-case type of thing. The Phils used to have the same problems with the Reds and the Cards, regardless of where those teams stood in the standings.

You know what, they threw a stat out on last night's telecast that since 1994 the Phils have a winning record against every team in the NL except, you guessed it, the Astros. Phils winning % against Houston in that time span was like .355.

Make it .357! Halladay complete game shutout and Phils are first team to clinch a playoff spot. :thumb:

Dbacks are close - Philly leads all-time series 49-48, including a split this year.

Phils will wrap everything up concerning the regular season, division crown and homefield, this weekend. That gives them 2 weeks to play out the string, rest people who need it, get rotation set & then RED OCTOBER!!!!

Man, I really thought the Phillies were gonna choke and miss the playoffs. :ohno:
HOUSTON -- Two things resulted from Philadelphia's 1-0 win over Houston on Wednesday afternoon at Minute Maid Park. First, the Phils clinched at least a National League Wild Card spot. And second, the Astros lost their 98th game, which set a club mark for most losses in a season.

It may not matter as everytime I bring up the weather they always play anyway (kinda like Candace on Phineas & Ferb, but if the Phils have a decent rain delay today in that first game today it could get messy at CBP. Game 1 of DH with a 2:35pm start & Game 2 to start at 7:35pm - separate tickets. Clear everyone out real quick & let next crowd in - plus parking, glad I'm not there today.

Of course, do you have any idea how much the Phillies make in ticket sales revenue alone per game - it's gotta be between $2 and $3 million, if not more.

Phils win afternoon makeup game against Florida, 3-1, behind Kendrick and the bullpen. Magic number down to 3 with another makeup game tonight.

I agree, but I bet Charlie goes with Oswalt as the 4th starter.

Man, that wind is doing some crazy stuff tonight at CBP. Mayberry had the right idea keeping it low to left field. That's about the only place to hit one out tonight, and he crushed that thing. Lee is dealing, baby!
