Terrible start. I guess it could always get worse, but we'll just have to see. They should be thrown from the Big Sky for this.

In 2006, the year after two consecutive playoff seasons, Eastern was beaten by Division II Central Washington and went 3-8. A year later, they trounced the number 2 seed in the opening round of the playoffs and lost by 3 to eventual champs App State. Granted, Central was a very good Division II, and that was probably the worst (young) team we'd had in 15 years, but the point is UNC is very young so I wouldn't beat your guys up too much. There's bound to be some rough games with a new coaching staff/system.

CWU is kind of a special case, though. Montana State won the Big Sky in 2002 after losing to Central. EWU won the title last year after almost losing to CDub. The Griz went to the title game in 2008 after a close win over them, as well.

I just find it funny after a couple UNCO fans were raving about how "explosive" their new spread offense would be, how they have players that would excel, and that we all needed to watch out. Certainly didn't seem like it this week.

Nothing against the team, as I like NoCo quite a bit, but it sounds a lot like Griz fans sounded at the beginning of last season. New systems, especially the spread, are hard to implement. We, and I especially mean I, feel ridiculous after laughing off the people saying that the Griz would struggle last year.

didnt NCU also have a couple of late transfers that were going to vault them to the upper end of the Big Sky too

I know its not nice to pile on but MSU still takes crap for the Chadron loss, and UM still takes it for the NDSU loss, so ti will be one of those things that will be brought up for years ;)

If you're talking about Hildreth and Bumpas, both of which came in two weeks after camp BEGAN. They didn't even have spring practice and came in late during fall camp. They need time to learn the schemes. Hildreth had a decent day carrying the ball in relief of our starter who hurt his knee.

Our new running back from CU had a pretty good running day against Colorado State, but as I mentioned earlier he is still learning the offense. Both our #1 and #2 running back's are out with injuries and we haven't been able to open the play book with Hildreth yet. He has only been in Greeley for about a month. He broke off a 66 yard TD against the Rams that should have been on Sports Center, yes it was that great.

Sorry BSB but gobears was making claims of how these late transfers should bring the bears into consideration for high rankings in the pre-season polls
