If Russia wanted to negotiate with the US, then they should've invaded the US and tried to annex its territory. As luck would have it, they've invaded Ukraine and tried to erase that country. And yes, war is horrific. Maybe you should let your Russian handlers know that, I'm sure they'd be thrilled to learn that.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 5:13 pmSkjellyfetti wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:52 pm

Why would he? Russia has been slow-walking the same kind of horrific war in Ukraine for almost 10 years now - whole swaths of areas where Ukrainians have lived have been wiped clean of Ukrainians so that Russians can be moved in, and whole areas of land have been merged into Greater Russia, just for the pride of it, and this guy has been cheering it on all the while. Why would he care about death and destruction in Israel and Gaza if he's been all for it a few thousand miles north of there?kalm wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 8:05 amYou should be raising 60 kinds of hell over what the U.S. enabling to happen in Gaza. You have no clue what has, and is going on in Ukraine. You just buy the narrative and then smugly regurgitate it because that's what engineers do.

Please, we have an entire thread that will be forever enshrined to your absolute stupidity on this subject. You still maintain that Russia didn't really invade, they just moved slightly to the west. You vacillate almost every day on what perceived grievance allows Russia to perpetuate genocide in Ukraine simply because they want to have a sphere of influence/power over their neighbors. This entire thread has been a tour de force on how little you know and understand on this subject but what you're eager to copy over from whatever crazy conspiracy site you happen to be on that day. When you get back out of the rabbit hole, assuming you ever do, we could have an actual conversation on what engineers actually do, since that's apparently another subject matter in which you seem to be shockingly deficient. Maybe one day we'll actually come across a topic you can intelligently contribute to the board at large here - but I'm not holding my breath.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 10:26 amGannonFan wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 10:11 am

You keep trotting out the "Boogeyman" defense in regards to Putin. It's laughable. You didn't even understand what an SMO was, so stop acting like you're some extra knowledgeable person. You've regurgitated talking points and have shown zero intellectual curiosity on the topic.
In regards to engineers, I fix the shit you mishandle when dealing with people. I know plenty about how lazy and aggrandizing engineers are. I ain't impressed.

How's that diplomatic plane arrival from Russia yesterday, or was that just another conspiracy theory run amuck? The US fomented this war and was just fine supporting mercenaries (Nazis - Russian propaganda) that killed many Russian speaking Ukrainians. The Ukrainian government was just fine killing its own civilians and numerous "leaders" in the West have admitted the Minsk agreements weren't adhered to because they were only put in place to buy time. This war has been on track for many years.
Outside those basics, the Russian military has far greater capabilities. Something you have no clue about. A stunning lack of curiosity. The Ukrainian's are insanely patriotic to their country and unfortunately that is being used against them.
I was for peace from the beginning.

This war has been a war for a good 10 years now. All that happened last year was Putin sending in reinforcements. Just because you only recently started paying attention doesn't mean that time was standing still waiting for you to notice.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 11:53 amThis war has been on track for many years.GannonFan wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 11:29 am

Exactly. Have you paid attention to what Putin has said over the years? He has been warning the West to not encroach on their borders. Look at all the land grabs. They are all militarily strategic in nature and allow Russia to protect itself. The US would do the same if faced with the same scenario, and as a US citizen, expected.
I'm not saying that's all cool, I'm saying that if you fuck around with a nations defense, you find out. That's what has happened.

Then the opposite should apply. russia with Ukraine is able to project force further into Europe putting those nations at greater risk. By your logic they would be justified in invading Ukraine or bringing them into NATO.

I work with engineers every day, as we are an engineering centric company. I fix their problems every day. Do you know how many times we've had to go get an engineer out of his desk to come to the floor and explain how their changes will work?
They're usually to good to go to the floor, so they don't understand that the changes they have made are impossible. Love it when the lowly mechanic points out their errors.
