Until then - I call bullsh!t on you - I have about 100% more evidence than you do to support my claim

You have hearsay and the FORD website

besides witnessing it with my own eyes
This FORD Escape has a small tank / 4WD / Eco-boost / and under 300 miles of range
These are all ^ FACTS
You are so full of shit that it's funny.

wow...
You really don't get it - do you
The company I work for has had this car in its possession for 43 thousand miles
We know EXACTLY how many miles this thing will drive on a tank full - and now since I've had it out here in Seattle I have had the identical experience with this car as the guys in Maryland

This isn't a hoax or a scam
I'm simply relaying some data - which you chose NOT to believe

The tank range has nothing at all to do with what we're doing but it has been keenly observed by all on this project and that is why I started this thread

Depending on which Eco-Boost it has the mpg is 22/30 or 21/28.

http://www.ford.com/suvs/escape/2013/specifications/

So the range is 332/453 or 317/422

Carry on with your making shit up. :coffee:

DUDE... Seriously
I just FILLED IT UP myself
it has 277 miles of range before it stops running :ohno: no matter what FORD tells you
this is how far it goes on a tank of gas (trust me) this is not a gag or hoax
Tesla's website says that going 60 mph on the highway in 70 degree weather with the air on will get you 205 or 259 miles depending on which battery back you have. Bumping it to 65 mph changes it to 191 or 242.

But I guess the manufacturer's website is full of shit, right?

We'll never know until somebody gets a TESLA and tests one...
What we do know is - I have a FORD ESCAPE 4wd Eco-Boost 2013 - in my possession right now
and it has a tank range of about 275 miles

That much we know...

I hate to get involved in this shit storm, but are those 275 miles primarily city or highway?

They're Seattle miles...in other words, it only SEEMS like you're driving 500 miles, but it's really only 275. :coffee:

The Model S competes against high-end luxury cars (which is why it's successful). I can't imagine anyone considering a Model S to cross-shop it with a Ford Escape. The people buying these things are looking at BMWs, Mercs, Jags, etc.

Ford makes nothing that competes in the same class as the Model S (and that's including Lincoln vehicles).

Honestly though - that initial picture is either:

1. Shopped
2. Having a sensor issue
3. Just filled up and the distance is catching up with reading how full the tank is (Which happens)
4. They drive like a fucking dee-dee-dee

Philly to LA with one stop for fuel.

Tesla range doesn't impress me.
Me either. I filled my car yesterday with 13.4 gallons of fuel and had gone 602 miles. The warning light had just gone off. I drive 30 miles each way to work and often have stop and go on the freeway. When it is not stopped I am doing 80 every chance I get. It has 177K miles on it and I don't expect to get rid of it anytime soon.

Also, that the Escape gets roughly 60% more distance per "fill" than the Tesla at this point.

That's the entire point of the thread.

Cheese dick pointing out that he sucks at getting gas milage and that a Tesla, with optimum conditions, gets less miles than his Escape on the EXTREME low end of the spectrum.

What's the Tesla get for city mileage.

Also was insistent that there was NO WAY an Escape had that kind of mileage...NO CHANCE because he didn't get that kind of mileage. According to him Fords website is full of lies saying that the Escape got that mileage.

So a car that costs 1/3 the price gets 50-60% better mileage...It is going to take a fuck ton of fills up to equal out that 40-50K price difference.
