I don't think I've had a Whopper in almost 20 years. I used to eat several a week at MCAS Yuma and got tired of them. BK or the Chow Hall were the only options.

Yuma was mostly a Harrier base, though many fighter and rotary aircraft came through.

No.

Our system has its flaws as all healthcare systems do, but Obamacare is a change for the worse, and there is no amount of gussying you can put on it. Increased costs to the taxpayers, elevated costs, and almost zero choice. Precisely the opposite situation that was sold to the public.

Single payer systems around the world are in a state if virtual collapse. The only question I have is:

Why do you have such faith that our government can do it better?

Sent from the center of the universe.
It isn't faith in the guvmint, it's that I don't see how anybody could do it worse than it's being done. I've been in the workforce for more than 40 years, not counting military time, and premiums have gone up every year and what is covered has gone down every year. The simple fact is that your health care is at odds with their profits and your health care loses every time.

Have you ever experienced a year where more things were covered than last year and/or your out of pocket health care costs went down?

The Prez can ignore whatever law he wants. He just has to make one of those signing statement thingys.

Would it matter? As I see it Obama is a law unto himself and will do whatever seems best for him. The rest of us be damned.
Gee, I wonder where he got that idea?

Most of the Hornet squadrons moved to El Toro before I got to Yuma and then on to Miramar when El Toro was BRAC'ed and the Marines took Miramar from the Navy and the Tomcat was decommissioned.

Well, as CID will be the first to tell you ( ), their out of pocket hasn't increased nor has their coverage decreased. Only time I ever experienced that was in the military. Working for the guvmint. :coffee:

I work for the "guvmint" and my premium goes up every year and the benefits go down.

In other news, my pay is cut 20% starting this week and we've been under a pay freeze for three years. But I guess we're just living the dream, huh?

Do we have single payer? I think not, yet you defend Obamacare. So, I will ask again...the idea behind the ACA was to escalate the process of paying more and getting less?

You are referring to the status quo? Don't see how ACA could be worse than what we have right now. Private care will still be here for those that want it. :coffee:

You're playing coy, I was referring to the effect on the status quo that the ACA will have. Quite obvious, actually.

I simply said it's going to escalate the status quo, but I think you knew that. The point here being that premiums are going to increase at a faster rate than under the current system. I've not seen any evidence to the contrary, yet.
