McMurry is a transitioning D3 that just accepted the invite to DII in July 2011. They're nowhere near being a viable DII team yet

Basic sportsmanship....you don't intentionally run up the score on anyone - ever at any level of the game. Period.
I hope Montana gets to play them again soon.
Actually it was announced today that MSU is playing them in Bozeman next year instead of us playing Oregon. We will take care of this on the field...

82-6? I guess you can't ask the kids to stop.

The score isn't really my issue.

My issue is how the score got there.

I would be okay with 100-6 if it came with running the ball and kicking PAT's after you go up 52-6 in the first half.....

Ok. I'm not going to try to defend this, cause if it were me, I would have had my startes out after half as well. While I understand the whole thing about not throwing for touchdowns in the third and fourth QTR, I don't think its realistic to ask a passing team to not pass at all (especially, when 2nd and 3rd stringers are in the game). Is that unreasonable?

And if thats not unreasonable, then where do you draw the line? SFA's starter threw a touchdown around the 12 min. mark in the 3rd then he was out. (should that have happened, probably not, but it did), does that make the difference? Just asking cause everyone (especially you) seems to be really worked up over this? And, I think if you really look at this game they may be one score you don't agree with and you are teeing off on SFA. Now, if its mainly based on last year, then we can stop the conversation, cause there are valid points to be made by you regarding SFA's first game last year.

1. Passing teams still have run plays. Run plays still work, did you not average 7 yards per carry against this team? What better way to work on a ground game than up by fucking 60 on a D3 school.

2. Shame on SFA and McMurry for agreeing to this game. This is right up there with cramp-gate.

3. Your starters should have been out of the game after the first drive of the second quarter. At that point the score was something like 38-0, with zero sign of competition from McMurry. Someone on PantherNation pointed out some of UNI's scores against Indiana State and USD. That's great to point out, but I will also point out that the starters were pulled before half, and there were maybe 3 passing attempts in the second halves of those games.

4. It isn't just this that has gotten me with SFA. There has been zero class shown by this program for a couple years now, on multiple instances. If there was any class ever shown by SFA I wouldn't be "really worked up" over it.

5. I've looked at this game. I pointed out multiple occasions of throwing for scores when already up 40 or 50 or 60, going for two point conversions when up 40 or 50. It has been pointed out that starters were still in the damn game in the second half. I don't wish injury upon anyone, but had SFA's best WR or starting QB gone down with a season ending knee injury in the third quarter....I wouldn't have felt bad for that player.

6. Last years first two games, and the lack of class from each of them, showed me everything I need to know about this SFA program. Also, seeing all of the defending of the classlessness from the program shows me about the fan base and that it isn't just the coaches and players.

Wow. As far as I can tell, I'm the only SFA poster in this thread (or site really). You talking about me? Didn't think I was defending them, just asking...

I would never say anything about any of your fans, but over the last 20 years, I've seen SFA quite a few times. Can't say "respect" was every any of the things I felt for them. :kisswink:
