Jacksonville State loses!

Only affects seeding imo. JSU is still an at-large team.
Who wins their conference then? And I guess one more at-large is gone (I think they're a near lock)?

I dunno, you can stretch this out a bit to make their profile look shaky...

Wins: SEMO and Ole Miss (and Chatty)

Losses: EKU and TTU (Both pretty sketchy)

Dunno if a win over Georgia State is considered a "counter", if it isn't, then they have 8 DI wins, which is the same as Liberty, SCSU, etc.

Plus they've lost 2 of their last 3.

I dunno if they'll be left out, but they put themselves much further down on the list than they should have been.

SEMO wins the conference, and SEMO was a near-lock to make it as an AL. As suiham said, it's a likely non-issue.

BTW, do the selections get made tonight and announced tomorrow? Just wonderin' 'cause don't they have to contact the schools about hosting/bidding to host? Or was all the bidding done before and then it's up to the teams to make the playoffs? Less than 24 hours seems like very little time to make and contact schools about these decisions.

SC State hasn't beaten a single team worth a damn. If they were in the CAA they would be somewhere between 0-8 and 2-6. If SC State got in it would be the biggest joke ever....
fair enough, but according to those rankings South Carolina State even though 50th overall is still 21st among playoff eligible teams... Jacksonville is ahead of them as is Liberty.
I just ran last weeks GPI using only the components the NCAA selection committee uses (Modified GPI) which uses Massey, Wolfe, Ashburn, Self and Laz. In the modified GPI South Carolina State (45.8) is ahead of Liberty (49.6) and Jacksonville (32.2) is far ahead of both of them.

The committee will begin after the final game tonight and the field will be announced at 10AM I do not believe the schools find out ahead of time...

Bids were already submitted by teams for home games.

Gotcha. Thanks!

Also, and I'm just throwin' this out there in this whole playoff scenario thing ...but both LU and ODU played an all D1 schedule if that means anything. Just my random fact for the two VA schools with outside shots at the playoffs, even though ODU's is waaaaay out there. :thumb:

ODU has a better modified GPI than Liberty.

Last week, yes.

This week we'll gain ground on SCSU and ODU since they both played NC xx, who both suck in the polls (I think they're both in the 120's), whereas we played middle of the road Stony Brook. I'm sure we'll pass SCSU, I dunno where ODU is but I'd venture to say we'll be close.

And the modified GPI screws us royally every time. It takes computers that screw us hard for our SOS, which yes, is our fault, doesn't mean I have to like it tho. :thumb:

Maybe things would go better if you went to the right.

We woulda beat William and Mary in 2007 if we went to the right a little more.
