I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, um, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq and everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uh, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, should help South Africa and should help Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future.andy7171 wrote:Well look at a map. Washington, Baltimore, Wilmington, Philly, Newark, New York, New Haven, Providence, Boston, all in and around 45-75 minutes of each other going in a line. Along that 95 corridor it is. But get outside of that corridor 20 minutes east or west and its all farms and forests.

We have to travel at least 4 hours, over 2 icy, cougar and bear infested mountain passes, ford a dozen raging rivers, cross a great desert full of rattlesnakes and ticks as large as a dog or small child, navigate the Columbia River Gorge, and avoid 3 active volcanoes just to reach our two nearest conference foes(Montana and Portland State).
That's not to mention negotiating the hostile sneers and staring of the slack jawed locals at way stations like the Montana Bar or Biggs Junction while stopping for a beer or to gas up.

Concerning the 8000 or so JMU fans at last year's UR/JMU game being dubbed "JMU East".... If UR continues to win, hopefully you JMU fans will have to "fight" over the 1000 tickets that will be available to the visiting sxhool!

That's just about the same distance (travel time) as going to JMU. Save us some seats and we'll be there.![]()

Most away games (most of which I go to) JMU brings 1-2k fans.JMUpurplehazed wrote:One thing I like about the CAA is that many of the southern schools are close enough that the number of traveling fans is growing.
If the other schools admit it or not they love playing JMU at home b/c JMU draws their own fans and JMU brings 4,000 (anyone) to 8,000 (UR) tailgaters.
UR last year, at least 8,000 JMU fans...UR stadium was dubbed JMU East for three hours...
WM this year, sold out weeks before the game...I can't guess how many are JMU...
Liberty (non-CAA) last week, I'm guessing 4,000 JMU fans traveled to sit in a typhoon...
ODU vs JMU could fill a 40,000 seat stadium in Norfolk now...
I hate VCU and GMU b/c that would add two more big FCS schools in CAA country...GMU would support football out of the gate. VCU, maybe not b/c the City of Richmond won't support anything but kids eat free buffets at western sizzlin.
-Nova, UD, Towson I been to all of them the last 5 years. Never have there been more than around 2k JMU fans. Certainly never 4 K.
05' was at JMU @ Hofstra. Was well under 1k fans. Wasn't there but I doubt JMU @ Umass had more than 1k JMU fans.
06' I was at JMU @ UNH when JMU was top 15 and UNH was #1. JMU pulled the upset 42-24 in front of less than 1k fans JMU fans.
07' Didn't go to JMU @ Northeastern and URI, but I know from talking to people who did go they weren't huge JMU crowds.
08' I was one of about 3 doz JMU fans at JMU @ Maine in that downpour.
4k fans at Liberty last week.
I've been to all 3 ACC games the last 3 seasons. @ UNC and @ Duke was maybe 1-2k JMU fans. Even though was down in NC, thats within 3-5 hrs of the Richmond, Tidewater and DC area alumni basesand a I-A game is more attractive to go to than most of the CAA games. At MD JMU had 5-10K fans. JMU alumni hotbed, I-A game.
I didn't go to 05' and 07' W&M games. 05' JMU it was a 4-4 JMU @ a 5-4 W&M. Both teams were out of the playoffs. I doubt JMU brought more than 2k fans. 07' It was a 6-3 JMU in the playoff hunt at a 4-5 W&M. I could buy that there were 3-4 K JMU fans at that one. This season @ W&M sure maybe 4-5K JMU fans would want to go, but only a couple k will be able to get tickets...
You are correct about the 8k at Richmond last season.
JMU travels very well, probably better than 80-90% of the I-AA schools. But you're dreaming if you think JMU brings around 4k or more to most away games....
