conference champs?
Bite me. Yes, we are the reigning conference champs, asshole, as recognized by the NCAA. Get over it. You and all the UCA homers, please gag yourselves
I can certainly understand where you and they are coming from to an extent. Were they the best team in the Southland last year? I have to say that they were...

BUT

They knew that moving up whatever they accomplished wasn't going to be recognized during the transition time so I don't feel sorry for them. They were lucky enough to move up to a higher level and should be happy that it even happened instead of complaining when they don't get recognized. We all know they've been the best team in the league over the past couple of years but has anyone else noticed that they have been DEAD LAST in Commissioner Cup rankings???
They have one more year of this. It's the price you pay for moving up. I know it, you know it and they know it. And I'm not too worried, we're probably as good, or better, than last year and they lost more than we did, so we'll just have to sit back and see this year.

If they have the best record and, say, McNeese finishes second are you going to rag on them all the rest of 2010? It's the way it is and UCA ain't the first team to have gone through this.

I like it too, but I hope you're being sarcastic. It is by no means unique. We copied our in-state brethren:

The University of Montana got themselves an RV, well it looked kinda like the Madden Cruiser sort of, and it was touring the USA. I think it was for publicity and to help in the recruiting process for the student/athlete as well as getting the name out there. I was just wondering if anybody knew if it was still around. I thought the project had a shelf life of 3 years but I may have been mistaken.
A Grizabago, eh? Never heard of it.

yea, that truck is wack, I respect the effort but, a set of 'away' helmets would have done 3x as much as far as recruiting goes.

everyone knows recruits look at 5 things mainly:

stadium
uniforms
playing time
School prestige/conference/competion
proximity to home

I dont mean to take this post too far off topic but, what do you think attracts more recruits;

a peterbuilt truck, with "montana" on the side of it,

or

a set of away helmets or a 3rd jersey, or personalized sandals with the players #'s on them?

Yeah, he's okay, we'll keep him :D

Here's a report on him from a local Austin channel (that actually covers us cause they have alum working there)
Click on the video there in the box and one small error in the reporting... ( :o ) he threw for 26 TD's last year not 6. The 6 were his INT's. Also he only took 2/3 of the snaps last season.

I know it's not an FCS poster but a lot of guys were asking me about mine when we got them. I'm dead center above the R and S at the end of COBBER SCHEDULE...#44
