The legal rights are now there, but the social battle against homophobia is still present. Ya know, like trying to get people to stop using the word "faggot" and "gay" in bad connotations. :thumb: :kisswink:

I woke Alex up and we watched President Obama's speech. Alex started bawling - and asked me "Does this mean I am not a second class citizen anymore?"
You and Alex are second class citizens and way worse in eyes of just about every religion, including American Patriotism.

Until secular humanism prevails, you're ****.
Nonsense, that's just you being trite, which admittedly, is your natural state. Very few religions view homosexuality as anything more than a sin, and in that regard, considering that everyone is a sinner, we are all equal under God. Religious who think otherwise are just adding one more sin to their coffers. :thumb:

Good news is, Alex is no longer a second class citizen.

Bad news is, Jon, being white, IS STILL a second class citizen.

We'll send you a Members Only shirt, Jon.

When dback turned me on this issue over at AGS. He said this was about equal rights not religious beliefs. The Catholic Church doesn't recognize my brothers marriage. So why should Jon's be any different?
I pray that this will be the end of this issue. But I fear the next round will be for MY church to marry LGBT.

I haven't heard of any push for that, Andy - and I would oppose it. The Catholic Church isn't required to marry straight couples, so don't see the legality of forcing them to marry gay couples.

What you will see eventually is divisions in churches on this - just like slavery split churches, you will see churches split over this issue. Already has happened with Episcopals.

GF, you need to refrain from introducing logic into a theological pissing match.

Precisely what Roberts and Scalia said in dissent.

Roberts also questioned how, in light of the Court's holding that there is a substantive due process right to marry in accordance with one's preference, state laws prohibiting bigamy are constitutional. He does have a point there.
I will go into my thoughts on bigamy/polygamy on another thread next week, but those both would get into consent issues.

I'm actually jealous of you. I always see pictures of you and Alex at the Diamondback games; or the Cardinals' games; or the Suns' games.

I can never get my wife to go to a game!
