BTW, though I do think Islam is a problem, no single religion is in the ballpark when it comes to the mass of atrocities as compared to officially atheist regimes. The existence of religion is not the problem. If you think it is, you're kidding yourself.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

This route has failed before. Hitler and Stalin were raised Catholic. So in D1Bs mind they are that for life. Even if it was just in their childhood, like his. They, not him, cannot deny that upbringing.

Remember folks, America is not a country founded by Christian morality, unless we are talking about slavery, then all of the sudden Christianity's influence on the founding is heavy.

Some who are determined to believe religion is the problem will not accept the reality. But it is the reality. If you think religion is the reason for all the wars and the murders and the atrocities, etc., or even that there would be less of those over time if you could just get rid of religion you are kidding yourself.

Like there were 14,196 murders in the United States during 2013. What percent of those do you think were "religiously" motivated? I'd feel pretty comfortable betting that it was less than 1 percent of them. I'd expect that they were just about all over things like money, jealousy, turf, and such. And I think all of you would think the same thing if you really think about it.

You're not going to make violence go away by getting rid of religion.

In fact I think that if we evolve into an entirely atheist world it'll get worse. I can't prove that. But that's what I think because it makes perfect sense because it's reasonable to believe that at some point people would realize that given the atheist premise there is absolutely no intrinsic reason NOT to treat others badly if you calculate that you can get away with it. But we've been through all that before.
