If I went with the Democratic Party's standards on their last two offerings for the job I could lower the bar to include all of them

What's really sad or scary, is that there are people in this country who don't know that and will believe it, even in the face of evidence proving the contrary. When I started this list a month ago (6/2) there were 9 announced candidates. Now up to 14. Remaining 2 liekly would be Walker & Kasich..

Donald Trump is currently leading all other Republican presidential candidates in a new nationwide poll.

The real estate mogul and businessman won 15 percent of support from registered Republican voters as their first choice to be the presidential nominee. Not far behind are former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (11 percent) and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (11 percent) in the new Economist/YouGov poll.

Trump is even more successful when Republicans are asked for their second choice — he garners 12 percent of support, while many others topped out at 7 or 8 eight percent.

Actually the Pilgrims came to America for religious freedom correct?

Freedom for their religion and no others.

But they didn't start a country. So....not sure what the point of all this is.

Those are nice stats. However, it's July 14 and those will change before January 2016. Trump will fizzle out, as will most of the other candidates.

Most of this is sideshow, and in Trump's case, a larger sideshow. Lots of candidates, but the only real ones are Bush, Rubio, Walker and Paul, and maybe in that order. One of those is the nominee and quite likely the VP nominee is in that small group as well.
