National Institutes of Health paid him $2 million for Medicare consulting Justice Department has added $1.7 million for expert witness testimony Four US states combined to pay him another $1.6 million for advice about health care laws, and contracts for four more states were unavailable If those states followed suit, Gruber's haul would exceed $7.5 million Gruber has become a thorn in Democrats' sides since videos emerged of him candidly discussing how the Obama White House misled Americans to pass the Obamacare law

What... met with the president to fine tune the lie

President Obama personally crafted a major Obamacare deception with Jonathan Gruber at one of Gruber’s numerous White House meetings, according to a 2012 Gruber interview with PBS.

MIT professor Gruber, who served as a top Obama administration consultant during the writing of Obamacare, garnered national condemnation this week after The Daily Caller published a video in which he credited a lack of transparency for Obamacare’s passage. Gruber said the law survived an existential threat posed by “the stupidity of the American voter.”

Gruber had a powerful partner in his effort to spin or conceal politically vulnerable aspects of Obamacare from the public: the president of the United States.

The Gateway Pundit highlighted a clip from Gruber’s 2012 interview with the PBS program Frontline in which the professor admitted that he worked together with the president in the Oval Office to conceal the political impact of their plan to get more tax revenue out of employer-sponsored health insurance plans by imposing a new “Cadillac tax” on companies. The Gateway Pundit also confirmed that Gruber checked into the West Wing for a meeting with the president on July 20, 2009, according to White House visitor logs.

Fox News has an agenda. Both sides aren't relevant to them.

The amount of bad information and downright misinformation - combined with just flat out lies - used to get the Affordable Care Act passed will be the enduring legacy of President Obama

It really does need to be repealed (Formally Withdrawn)

Serious question. Does everyone think that these Gruber videos show that the administration deliberately deceived the America public to pass ACA?
Because I just heard that only CBS has reported on this, other than Fox News and CNN. Isn't it odd that NBC and ABC are ignoring it? :?

Just as deceiving as, " we have to pass it...so we know what's in it." I watched Meet the Press yesterday and Chuck Todd was talking about it with the woman from HHS. So,it's not being ignored. And then there's this.

I don't understand why Pelosi and Obama are denying that they even know Gruber. He's been cited many times by both of them and record books show he was at White House meetings. Let alone he was paid at least $393K for his input.

Doubling down on stupidity?

There are articles all over the place about how a college education in Europe isn't free. But even if there wasn't, SOMEBODY is paying for that. It's not free. And there's nothing laudable about going into life thinking you have a right to have someone else pay for what you need and/or want. There's nothing laudable about a culture wherein most people have that attitude. In fact I think it's a fundamental corruption of culture when that happens. It's happened here. But not to the extent that it's happened in Europe.

And the United State is not and has never been an empire.
