IIRC, had the news rules been in place last year, Junior would have won the championship.
Yep. Another flaw with the new system. A driver with 7 wins (Kenseth, who finished 2nd in the Chase) doesn't make the final 4 because of a poor finish in the next to last race. And in the final race at Homestead driver with 0 wins (JR) would have won the championship over a driver with 6 wins (Johnson) based on 1 race. Even as a JR fan that would have been flat out wrong.

That's nothing too new though. The year Matt Kenseth won the title, Ryan Newman had 8 wins.

Richard Petty was so dominating, that I doubt the format change would have affected him much, but I bet Dale Sr. might have lost a championship or two under the Chase format as well.

His MO used to be to dominate the super speedways and short tracks early, gaining a huge points lead, and then just finish steady on the road courses and mid-length tracks later in the season enough to keep the lead.

Here's my :twocents:

Danica Patrick's reflexes and reaction time, from what I can see, are not the equal of other NASCAR drivers. She reacts more slowly to changing or dangerous track conditions. This gives her standing to argue, sometimes, that another driver was "responsible" for what happened, and she became "entangled" in the wreck, but I think the first wreck last weekend could have been avoided by other NASCAR drivers. I think this is true, also, of other wrecks she has become "entangled" in.

She's in over her head on the NASCAR circuit. She's got a sponsor because she is a novelty. A male driver of equal skill would be racing on a junior circuit, at best.

Her first wreck at Daytona was noteworthy because it was the first time many had seen a NASCAR driver take their hands off the steering wheel before the impact of a crash to avoid broken wrists.

Leave it to Danica Patrick to be NASCAR's pioneer in how to properly absorb a collision. :D

You're correct. I remember it too. I think it was only a race or two after she did it. I forget which driver.

I get the hands off thing...but to me that would cause more potential issues than a broke wrist.

How many broken wrists have their actually been?

I'd chance a broken wrist over ABSOLUTE ZERO control over my car.

When your front end is all smashed the there is no control.

Hearbtreaker if you're a Jr fan.. :x Usually the leader doesn't want a late caution, but yesterday that was what JR needed.

But he is on a tear. Since the 2nd half of last season's chase he has been the best driver in NASCAR.
-8 straight top 10s
-6 straight top 5s
-6 of the last 11 races top 2 (5 2nds and the Daytona win).

Harvick was running 2nd with about 92 laps to go when he suffered a broken left front wheel hub (not sure if it was from the debri he ran over earlier) and ended up having to go to the garage & finished 41st. Otherwise, he maybe wins back to back races. He was certainly headed to a top 3 finish. After last week's win at Phoenix he drops from 4th in the points to 14. But it really doesn't matter. He is in the Chase already. 16 in Chase this season, 1st criteria to get in goes to those with wins. Never has been 16 different race winners during the 26 regular season races in the 10 years of the Chase. Last year was 13, which I believe was a little higher than avg. Win a race, you are in the Chase. So in the Chase with a win:
-JR
-Keselowski
-Harvick

How the f during a pit stop on a caution when there aren't that many cars on pit road coming out of your pit stall do you just drive in the back of someone who's pitted 3-4 stalls in front of you?

I can only guess you are talking about Danica...but you don't list a single driver. WTF is your fucking problem with typing four (4) more characters/numbers as in....the 48 ran into the 24?

You really are a no talent assclown. Your sense of humor is lacking...just the same as your posting skills.

ONCE AGAIN: You still cannot post something that anyone can understand. Try posting a name or a car number dickbag.
