I don't have a problem with 'stream-lining' the military but the 1st two need to be trimmed also. M&M and SS are almost 50% of the total budget...

How about instead we start by eliminating subsidies for corporate farmers and Boeing and GE and their ilk first? All for means testing ss and medicare and eliminating the cap on income.

The defense budget is chock full of waste fraud and abuse, that's where we need to start.

Our current spending rates are not sustainable. INTEREST on our national debt it projected to quadruple in the next ten years and outstrip defense spending. 1/4 of our entire budget spent servicing debt piled up during Obama's 8 years in office.

And now the rumor (duh) is that the defense cuts are predicated on higher domestic spending plans....in other words, it's not an attempt to reign in spending, just OVER SPEND differently.
