Yeah! For easy math, let's just assume a constant rate!HI54UNI wrote: 29,000 in 2 days. For easy math let's call it 15,000 per day. 30 million uninsured divided by 15,000 = only 2,000 more days until everybody is insured!

Fine. 30+ million uninsured. 26,000 signed up in October. Now another 29,000 have signed up to make 55,000 total. 0.00183 of the total have signed up. Adding 29,000 is nothing.Skjellyfetti wrote:Yeah! For easy math, let's just assume a constant rate!HI54UNI wrote: 29,000 in 2 days. No because life expectancy is increasing. As life expectancy increases the proportion of the population composed of young people available to suck on in order to support the old becomes smaller relative to the proportion of the population composed of the old doing the sucking.Regarding young people supporting the old doesn't that sort of equal out over time
Same thing's been happening with Social Security for a long time. It's not a program where you put your money in it as an investment and get it back with interest. It's mostly an income transfer from the young to the old. And the proportion of young to old keeps getting smaller.
It's obviously all doomed to failure in the long term. But I guess that doesn't matter to "progressives."

Main thing with respect to the thread title this is really bad. Here you have this Charlatan telling young people, "We want to HELP you" in this campaign to get young people to sign up. And the whole time what he really wants is their money. His abomination needs for them to put their money into it with him knowing that they will draw less than they "contribute" in order to make his abomination work. He's a complete shyster. He really is.
He's the worst of my lifetime in the President's position in terms of just complete dishonesty and shysterism. And I'm including Nixon.

We all know the situation: He needs for young, healthy people who are not likely to draw from the system to enroll and put money into it so that their money can be used to pay for older and/or sick people who ARE going to draw from the system.
Stick the proboscis in baby. Stick it in. It's what "progressive" government's all about.

Re: Cynical Blood Sucking
Even if you do the math with an unrealistic increase of 11.5% per month it would still take approximately 3 years and 9 months to get everyone signed up. The reality is that the sign up rate won't grow consistently and will likely be similar to a bell curve with increasing sign ups until it hits a certain point and then a steep drop off until you're left with the hardcore who won't sign up. Bottom-line, I don't think it's as popular as people thought it was going to be.Skjellyfetti wrote:Yeah! For easy math, let's just assume a constant rate!HI54UNI wrote: 29,000 in 2 days. No shit it's not popular. Conks and they the people who control them have spent millions on a villification campaign. It will take months for the truth to come out and people are comfortable enough to sign up.UNI88 wrote:Even if you do the math with an unrealistic increase of 11.5% per month it would still take approximately 3 years and 9 months to get everyone signed up.
