Christie is going to have to do a REALLY good job to prove that he is the best chance the GOP has, a really good job. I mean talk about it constantly. I mean at every campaign stop from Day 1. But knowing how CC is, I already know.he doesn't have a problem at all with telling it like it is. I'll would register as a R in Michigan when I move there next year to vote for him in the primary. I'd even volunteer for him as well.

The TP and other fringe political groups needs to remember how Presidential elections work. The average American has neither the intelligence nor the attention span to follow ALL the issues of the candidates. You have to play up your strengths and focus on the weaknesses of the other guy to get their vote. That's it. It's American Idol and has been for decades.

Oh, and with gerrymandering and overall polarization, neither party is ever dead. The GOP's going to keep the House in 2014 even if they misstep every day from now until then. Political entrenchment is very real. :ohno:
So you are saying he'd eat her alive? :kisswink:

Because the status quo, as it pertains to healthcare in this country, is fucked.
There are parts of the ACA that aren't bad, but they just stuffed a bloated, poorly thought out and poorly executed plan down the throats of Americans without even understanding it themselves.

Regarding the underlined, it's rare to see a candidate talk about how great they are rather than tearing down their opponents. Romney had a legitimate shot in '12 until he made the 47% comment which the lefties spun to their advantage and made him look elitist and divisive (BHO's MO from day one). By doing that they got Americans to look away from how crappy the first term was and focus on how he wasn't "one of us".

Christie is the last hope for the non-donks. There are no other leaders out there. Hillary is no match for Christie. She will get picked apart for her experience, and lack of experience. Christie has a track record of fiscal house repair and fighting for his constituents. That will go a long way with many. Christie is very good at delivering his message (Despite his speech having the gay lisp that he clearly picked up at Univ. of Delaware). With each day, the legion of "takers" grows. In 5 years it will be too big to EVER overcome. Christie is the last chance.

Yeah, but this isn't a Mormon we're talking about. This is a guy who isn't socially conservative and isn't very conservative on gun issues, either.

So...he's a moderate? :chair:

It will be billed as another "lesser of two evils" vote for the Presidency. But at least this time around there will be substantial differences between the two candidates.

The Republican Party has generally been the #2 Party with respect to the national government since at least as far back as the early part of the 20th Century. I've posted on that before...listing which Party has controlled each of Congress, etc., over time.

The Democratic Party offers something for nothing to a lot of people. That's hard to overcome. The Republicans are closer to being right about what government should be doing than the Democrats are. But the truth is not what most United States voters want to hear.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth

The last chance train long ago left the station. It is already too big to overcome through the electorate. It will be overcome when it collapses under its own weight and we have economic armagedon. Its not a matter of if. Its a matter of when..... :coffee:

I wish I could argue with you but sadly I cannot. The entitlements and spending on anything and everything will never stop until there is nothing left. I've been to several town hall meetings and both sides are always wanting to know how it will affect "ME" if someone doesn't spend money somewhere. :ohno:

Each Party has their "bought and paid for" constituencies...
But I do agree with you in principal - particularly now that neither party resists military spending
and boondoggle military contractor (manufactured wars) are property of both Liberal & Conservative

However: I said "Principal"
Republicans haven't followed their principal core in decades / Spend less / Reduce the Federal Gov't size

So basically we're only talking about a mythological concept - and - in concept you are correct

I've been trying to think of a government program that has worked correctly after it was setup and can't think of one that has come in on budget and done what it was supposed to and even remotely remained solvent. The health care industry as it was before AHA was almost 18% of our GDP and that will continue to grow. The government in one fail swoop has taken over nearly 1/6 of our economy and decided they can run it better.

All of this:
Soon to collapse and demise of 1/6th of the economy is conjecture
However, that said it does seem like some significant revisions need to be addressed for everybody's sake
Where Obama will fail (in my estimation) is not the launching of a new Healthcare system
But in the not letting it get revised and updated properly to meet its flaws

we needed a new system
and nobody previously had the strength or balls to launch it
Now we need to "revise as we go" to make sure it's functional and properly developed

This will not happen
and this is where Obama will likely fail
Not in the launch and ambition - but in the second half of the game

It was designed to fail from jump street... all it is is foreplay for a single payer (totally govt run) system.
