The question I have is this, Is Gay divorce now legal or is gay marriage until death do you part?

Not surprised by this result. DOMA was always a political fig leaf anyway.

Our country is done as we know it.

Once the women, gays, muslims, sex offenders and pedophiles are done with it they will ask for help rebuilding it, but real men will probably just shoot them.

Another victory for the forces of cultural degradation. But I've often heard that this is a typical pattern. A civilization rises to prominence, degrades culturally, deteriorates, and disintegrates. Don't know why our civilization should be any different.

And the problem isn't the Supreme Court. The problem is a population of people such that we are actually even seriously discussing the perverse idea of calling a relationship between two members of the same sex a "marriage," much less actually institutionalizing it.

We're a sick society getting sicker all the time.

It's been almost 12 hours and so far marriage hasn't been threatened or stained by gay marriage.

That is all.

t's been almost 12 hours and so far marriage hasn't been threatened or stained by gay marriage.
It hasn't been threatened because it was largely destroyed as an institution many decades ago by the advance of liberalism (see liberalized attitudes towards divorce as opposed to, conversely, actually sticking to your commitment).

But it has been stained. Not so much by this particular decision. It's been stained by the evolution of society towards embracing perversion.

I don't know if you ever answered my question from weeks ago. Do you care about the title of marriage, equal rights or both? Asking another way, would you have been happy with the title of civil union if it afforded you the same rights as marriage?

Straight couples divorcing, forcing their underage, pregnant kids to wed and Elizabeth Taylor have done more to destroy the sanctity of marriage than all the gays.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an attempt at a DOMA-styled amendment to the Constitution. Seeing the length of time since the LAST one (and what's happened with the ERA), good luck actually forcing it through. It takes a LOT to get a federal amendment through. As with the ERA, while I see work on it starting almost immediately, I ALSO see ultimate failure.

Completely UNLIKE getting an amendment to the Cali Constitution, the most bloated such document in the history of constitutions, which can be amended merely by referendum. There are so many fiduciary restrictions on the budget written in by amendment that the Legislature's hands are tied, so that it LOOKS like they're doing nothing. To some degree, they ARE doing nothing, but THAT is not entirely their fault....

There will never be an amendment to the constitution that allows for the discrimination of certain people.

And yes, some REthugs have already introduced an anti-equality amendment in the House. Won't go anywhere, but helps ID the bigots.

I'm amazed at how all these heterosexual men are so agitated by a straight man wearing a tie.

Just like Christians giving Christianity a bad name, heterosexuals have done more damage to the sanctity of marriage than any other group.
