What Ibanez said. Something like 95% of Americans aren't virgins before marriage and honestly, I would neither expect nor care if my future partner is one.
Oh for god's sake, I can't believe this is even worthy of discussion. It's 2013 and this ain't rural Pakistan. It's just s.e.x. God made men AND women capable AND driven toward fucking around age 12. It's natural to have sex before you get married and there's abosolutely nothing defiling or wrong with it. You can "give yourself totally" outside of marriage. I'm glad you are of a different opinion. Seriously. I feel a whole lot better about myself.

Gotta be careful using the KJV around here, CAT. These youngsters might not understand it. Middle English is a foreign language to them. Heck, even MODERN English is often a foreign language to youngsters who are fluent in only ONE language: textese!

Really? You want to justify your idea witha reference from that book of fairy tales?

Andy, SCBH, you guys can sell your daughters into slavery. The Bible sanctions it.
Exodus 21:7
"When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go free as male slaves do."

Lets start executing all ministers who are at work on Sunday and in direct violation of
Exodus 35:2
"On six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be sacred to you as the sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Anyone who does work on that day shall be put to death."
Better not play football or eat pork. It's a sin.

Code: Select all

Leviticus 11
7and the pig, which does indeed have hoofs and is cloven-footed, but does not chew the cud and is therefore unclean for you. 8Their flesh you shall not eat, and their dead bodies you shall not touch; they are unclean for you."
Don't forget that we must kill farmers for planting two crops near each other and all of us deserve death for wearing garments of multiple fabrics.

The ideas of the bible are as oudated as the 8-Track. You can't pick and choose the portions about fornication and gays and ignore the rest. Don't be a Cafeteria Christian. Youeither believe EVERYTHING the bible says or you don't. Until then...GFY. :coffee: :twocents:

And you are welcome to your opinion. That doesn't make it right.

The problem with your interpretation is that it is biased and disregards accepted and factually statements on science and moral progress. You preach the Bible and that it's infalliable yet you condemn slavery and murder. The bible outlines when a man should commit these acts. You don't use reason and understanding.

For that matter, for the party of little gov't and wanting gov't out of its business, you Republicans sure want to be in others peoples business.

No he cannot. The Holy Bible, as Christians believe, is the word of God. Picking one "law" and avoiding the others is a sin. You are consciously disobeying the word of God. You either believe and follow the Bible or you don't.

My quotes are the extremes and serve to make a point. That point is that with the social, moral, scientific and ethical progress of the last 2000 years, many of the rules and sayings are out of date. Obviously we know its silly to kill those that wear a Cotton/Poly Blend and women don't need to wear a head scarf at all times. So why do we still say that two people are wrong for being gay or for having sex before marriage.

So then you should be OK with substituting...

I think chaining your children to a desk in the basement and giving them only bread and water is wrong, but I support a parent's right to make their own decision.

So chaining children to a desk in the basement and giving them only bread and water is the same as a woman's right to determine what happens to her body? That's the same point? Nice analogy AZ. :dunce:
