I prefer to judge candidates by their actions rather than their words. As a result, if Romney appears to be somehow moving to the center to some people, then maybe their preconceptions of him were wrong. Romney is about as moderate a politician as one can be without being a Blue Dog. That's why it gives me a chuckle when the Dems try to paint him as some kind of extremist.
Romney might turn out to be a failure to some Republicans in the way Bill Clinton was a failure to some Democrats.
