NTSB Proposed Ban On Texting, Cell Phone Use..

If we were smart we would get rid of the NTSB. You put people in position where their job is to reduce risk and that's what they're going to try to do. No matter how small the risk is on a per event basis, they are going to see it as their job to reduce it further. And they'll always be able to find stuff that alters the risk picture. If they get rid of cell phone use it'll be something else.

We have evolved into a culture which way, WAY too obsessed with reducing risk at the expense of just being able to live our lives.

It's the same old thing. The chances that you are going to get into an auto accident on a given trip is extremely small. And it is still extremely small if you use a cell phone while you're taking the trip. No way government should be involved in the situation.

We really, really need to get rid of these people.
