Making good decisions isnt your strong point bill.

I bet you dont post on Bison Media Blog either:
Bison fans were treated (or some say suffered) thru the Red Turf at Eastern Washington in last year’s FCS Quarterfinals. Jeff wrote earlier this week that Brock Jensen is still having a tough time dealing with the ending of that game, which ended on a fumble call, and some say it was tough to see where the ball came out against the red turf. (I say the only ones that dont see it have a blind spot)

You would think that any other college football team to introduce a different colored field wouldn’t go over well in the Bison football offices, with 2 replay calls that were controversial and both were tough to tell between the red field and the football(both calls incidentally went against NDSU) Several players I spoke with said they were not fans of the “Inferno”. Well for their sake let’s hope Conway, Arkansas isn’t in NDSU plans, after the announcement the school made yesterday: http://www.ucasports.com/news/2011/4/1/ ... 13911.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Back to weak schedules, they do have financial advantages but D2 and lower divisions don't count toward playoff eligible wins. Thats why its not fair to say its ok because FBS teams schedule FCS. Those games count for the FBS. Thats the difference between say NDSU playing Kansas or Minnesota and MSU playing say Minot State.

It might be smart scheduling for a BSC team to play NAIA, D3 or D2 teams at home because it is just too expensive to pay the travel costs for OOC FCS teams.

NDSU has a nice thing going with the East Coast. Costs are reasonable and we are picking up counter games, stronger and more interesting football than the available D2s and good exposure back east where it counts.

In time NDSU may have to do this too. Scheduling for home games gets tough, as we learned in D2. Fortunately there are a lot of good D2 programs in the area that are also legacy North Central Conference teams. They should draw well. Im sure UND isn't calling any of them because they are strong programs and they already have their hands full with the University of Sioux Falls and the "Dead in the Shed" game. They trail that series 0-1.

Just like NDSU went into Washington Griz as a D2 squad and beat them, some of these D2s and lower division teams will start notching some wins in the BSC too. At that point it may not look so good to schedule like this but until that time comes it may be the only thing these BSC schools can afford?
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Eh. We don't like THAT D-II reference, JBB. We'd MUCH rather look at the D-II that took out the Kitties not too long ago.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

JBB wrote:I picked this little tidbit up over at BV. It certainly contrasts the serious nature of football between the Big Sky and MVFC. In fact it suggest that school of Mines would be a natural invite for the BSC:
Here is how the Big Sky's non-conference football scheduling breaks down....According to some Sioux fans this is the premier FCS conference....

FBS 11 games- That is respectable, lots of games vs the Pac 12.

FCS 9 games- All vs the Great West conference, yes the Big Sky won't play another FCS conference besides the Great West until the playoffs. All but one game is vs a team that will be in the Big Sky next year.

Non-DI 7 games- One game vs a DIII, one vs a NAIA team and several vs schools transitioning into DII from the NAIA.

Lets contrast that with the MVFC

FBS 10 games- Multiple game vs the Big 12, Big 10 and SEC.

FCS 17 games- Games vs the GWFC, Southland, OVC, Patriot, NEC and Pioneer. Only one game vs a team that is joining the MVFC next year.

Non DI- ZERO and no UND fans zero is not a name of a non-DI school so you don't have to worry about Faison scheduling them.

The thread title over there is "The Big Sky is a Joke". I had the good taste to simply suggest the School of Mines is a good get for the BSC.
Yes, the fact that the conference has had a participant in the National Championship game the past 3 years clearly makes the Big Sky a joke. :ohno:
