Not suprised by Griz loss. I felt we were way overated to begin with and that the two road games (Cal Poly and EWU) would be very difficult games to start the new season with. Griz have a long ways to go to be in sync. I look for it to happen though.

Well when you self destruct and start giving up 80+ yard TDs, pick sixes, overthrown balls on wide open guys in the endzone, repeatedly rough the passer when they fail to convert 3rd and long, etc. it's says something that we lost by 2.

Time will tell how good Cal Poly and Montana are, but an unranked team defeating a #1 ranked team is big news IMO.

What teams impressed you the most this week? Which team exceeded your expectations so much that you had no choice but to go "Holy crap, I did not see that coming."

Western Carolina I didn't think it was possible given their body of work, but they have exceeded even my expectations in finding new & improved ways to embarrrass themselves, their school & their fans with piss poor performance. Seriously, we all have bad games & slip up once-in-a-while, but the cantamounts have turned this into an artform...

IMO, it goes just a bit BEYOND holding. Personally, I would have called an unnecessary roughness personal foul, ejected him, THEN declared the game over under the offensive-penalty-on-the-last-play-ends-the-game rule. That would sorta force Gene Washington's hand to suspend and fine the punk.

JMU impressed me the most

I know there were surprises to favorite teams like Montana and Georgia St. But the biggest disappointment to me was Southern losing their home opener (with a new coach and supposed "new attitude") 31-7 to Arkansas-Monticello. I feel bad for those 14,000 fans that showed up.

SDSU Loss was not respectable in any way shape or form. An overall lack of focus, etc.........no Conrad for the rest of the year.....and one of the linebackers is hurt...so not sure how the rest of the season is goingto turn out. However...SDSU has always been a slow starter.
