Well, then perhaps there needs to be another tax level for those of us not getting rich, but who are going to be impacted if these tax cuts expire.
I agree, and that seems to be the trick.

For all of my "supposed" wealth envy, I get the fact that many people in that range are exactly the main street/small business owner types that need help. Raise their taxes, and they are more likely to assume a greater share of the work load rather than hire more workers (ie: get by with less).

That's why the tax cuts need to start at the very top.'

Remember, Clinton raised taxes on the top 2%, and the economy did not suffer. On the other hand, we're still waiting for the Bush tax cuts to provide meaningful growth.

That's exactly what is going to happen in my case. It's sad really. I'd love to expand my business and add onto my building, bring in an associate to do some of the day to day grunt work, and allow me to focus more on some of the niche specialty stuff that I really want to work on. But there is some risk to that move, and it would require a significant investment, and a period of time to develop my referral base. None of which I want to do in this current anti-small business atmosphere. So I think I'll stand pat for now, until BO exits stage left in a few, and a more friendly administration takes power. Sucks for the people that I would have employed, and the people that would have gotten all that money I would have spent on the upgrades. Oh well, maybe they can get in on the next stimulus.
Dear lord... please allow this dangerous combination of hair spary, bat slobber, and D.O.T. four automatic transmission fluid to excite my mind, occupy my spirits, and enrage my body, provoking me to kick any man or woman in the back of the head regardless of what he or she has or has not done unto me. All my Best, Earlie Cuyler.

I don't have a problem lumping them in with the rest of the schmucks. It's no mystery why small business's get fucked the way we do. We don't have as much money to throw around to pay off politicians like Rangel and Waters or their Repuke opposites. Its easy to pick on us, we're low lying fruit. Meanwhile, the politicians continue to pander to the breeders that witlessly fall into line to vote for them as if it might make some real difference in their pathetic little lives, and then turn around and wallow in the flood of money from the big boys.

You Chicken Little fvcks always make me laugh. As with Hurricane Katrina, this downturn (precipitated by Conks and Conky behavior), is unprecedented in American hisotry and there ain't anyone who knows how to deal with it, Conk or Donk. I give Obama points for doing something. No Conk woulda done any better or worse.

To me, it's kinda like World War II, during which we had to feel our way around, mobilize and suffer some significant setbacks before realizing any success and eventually triumphing. Conks prefer to make shrieking girlie noises rather than have anything substantive to offer as an alternative, other than their tired old mantra of tax cuts for their wealthy buds. It's born out of jealousy and racism.

An honest difference of opinion over policy does not constitute racism and calling people names is not likely to draw them to your side of the argument. You would be well served to leave both out of the discussion. And the large font does not make you seem smarter.

Show me someone....anyone...who has been opposed to "ANY TYPE" of stimulus...

I'm opposed to the type passed by Congress and signed by the President...a series of gifts to partisan supporters...

If the vast majority of the money went into rebuilding the infrastructure of this country that has been neglected for decades...I could get behind that...

But if you look at where the money really went...Yea, I'm opposed to that... :coffee:

6. $10,346 for a heating and cooling company to provide “escort services” for other companies performing a laser scanning survey at a courthouse in Honolulu, Hawaii.

5. An academic study comparing outcomes of the concurrent and separate use of malt liquor and marijuana ($389,357).

4. A $225,000 study at Ohio State University on the relative and combined impacts of air pollution and a high fat diet on obesity development.

3. A $712,883 research grant to develop “machine-generated humor“. Project will design artificially intelligent “comedic performance agents”, and will “deploy them both on and off-line for the enjoyment and illumination of everyday citizens”.

2. A $54 million project to relocate one bridge for the Napa Valley Wine Train (!) in order to mitigate the possible impact of a “100 year storm event”.

And the number one most ridiculous use of stimulus funds…

1. $9.3 million (!) to fund the design and development of a “coordinated colony of robotic bees“!

All that adds up to ~65 million dollars. That's a SLIGHT fraction of the stimulus money. Compare that to 223 BILLION for tax breaks.
