Philips from Weber seemed to me to be on another level(talent wise) compared to other wide receivers returning but without Toone on the opposite side how will he handle the additional attention?
As a group Montana State may have the most talented group coming back with return of Desean Thomas (now that he is fully healthy), Gilbert (game breaker), Lloyd (who became a reliable target late in the season), Akpla. I just don't think that they will put up the numbers like some of the other teams since the Cats will rely heavily on the run again and don't have a gunslinger at qb like a Herrick/Higgins/Mitchell/Selle. I thought that UNC lost a lot of talent last year to injuries and with a new quarterback may struggle also.
My guess for best passing teams would be
1) Eastern Washington - Taiwon Jones puts tremendous pressure on the defense and opens everything else up and the offensive line should give Mitchell plenty of time to throw.
2) Northern Arizona - Herrick is a stud
3)Montana - There will be a change in emphasis with Pflugrad but he o-line will have to gel. Sambrano should have a big season.
4)Weber State - Higgins is talented but the team has had ton of turnover but Philips is a definite weapon.
5) Montana State - Totally depends on the quarterback but they return almost all their offensive line and skill players.
6/7) Sac State/UNC - both teams return a lot of talent
8) Portland State - have no clue how new offense will change under Burton they may be as high as #2 when the season is over
9) Idaho State - Offensive line has to give Hill or whoever time to throw the ball. Injuries decimated this team last year.
