It really depends on if he wants to have the possibility of playing for a national championship. Granted, UVa historically blows, but at least if they put together an undefeated season somehow, they'd have a better shot of making the BCS title game than Boise, which goes undefeated a lot, and finishes mid top 10 in the polls and gets sent to an also-ran bowl every year.
Disagree. I think his chances of playing in a mythical national title game are STILL better at Boise than in Charlottesville.

The WAC, I-A OOC outside of Boise are a whopping 9-18, 6-18, with 2 I-A OOC games left. The WAC outside of Boise vs BCS: 1-12, with Hawaii beating 1-11 Wash State. Might be 2-13 after this weekend after Illinois hosts Fresno (possible WAC win) and Wisconsin is @ Hawaii (likely WAC loss).

Fresno State, Hawaii, Idaho, LA tech, Nevada, New Mex State, San Jose State, Utah State, yeah, those are some real powerhouses  The WAC blows

The WAC is like the BSC: one powerhouse and a bunch of cream puffs. :thumb:

10 of 12 teams have made the playoffs this decade (yes, Northeastern is one of them). Better to be an inconsistent bottom dweller than a consistent one.

Found this this morning...
The Richmond Spiders, London’s current team, play Appalachian State today in the FCS playoffs. Richmond beat State 33-13 last year in the playoffs as ASU committed 7 turnovers in the contest. So, if Richmond loses today, London could be named the new coach as soon as Monday. I look for the deal to be fairly incentive laden, and the base to be around 1.4 million bucks.

If you had a contract ready to be signed that would increase your salary five-fold (London reportedly makes $275K/yr now), how much incentive is there to do your best under your current deal for three more weeks?

Pride would be the only motivation. That and fulfilling your obligation to the players. The question is, how much did any negotiations take from London's prep time for the game. And how will the players react to knowing that their coach is possibly a lame duck? Will they rally to send him out on top or will they fall over?
