Those are the same two articles on two different sites. And, yeah, I know what he has said... but, pretty sure I remember Nick Saban, Petrino, Tuberville, etc. famously saying similar things. Brian Kelly won't be at Cincinatti for long imo.

If Hauck DOES leave, though, I wouldn't be surprised if the next coach is Dave Dickenson.
OK, this should be entertaining. Why in the world would Hauck even entertain the idea of going to PSU?

And why would UM hire a guy who's entire coaching resume is one year as the Calgary Stampeders' QB coach?

I didn't say Hauck WOULD go to PSU. But every time there's been a job open the last three to five years, the rumor mill starts going full-bore over at eGriz.

One year? Oh, let's see, the Whiners hired Steve Mariucci after one year at Cal. The Redskins hired Jim Zorn before he'd even had one year as their OC. (OK, bad example.) The clincher, if there ever was one, is that eGriz would cr@p their pants in glee if Dickenson were hired. Speculation has been that the HC job is the only way he'll go back, and he's God to eGriz in the way Dean Smith, Michael Jordan, and Ric Flair are the Holy Trinity of North Carolina.

WTF is wrong with you? eGriz ain't making the decisions so stop using the site as your cited source for information.

"Speculation has been..." Holy fucking shit, I can't believe the fantasy world with no grasp of reality that some people live in.

I love DD and also think he is a deity but for the love of god man don't repeat that shit as if it is real.

I can't believe I'm even having THIS conversation so I ain't even gonna touch on the ludicrous nature of the PSU statement.

Do ever once think about what you are saying or do you just spout off the dumbest thing that comes to mind? :?

There is certainly no reason for Hauck to move down to such a helpless program as PSU; he would not leave for another FCS job; why would he? Dickenson has virtually no coaching experience in spite of being a hero at UM. He seems to be more interested in the CFL. More viable names are Pflugrad (if he doesn't wind up at PSU) and Pease.

You guys were so eager to jump on the second half of the post that you completely missed the first. The second half was merely speculation on what MIGHT happen if Hauck were to leave. And, yes, I agree that there would be no profit in him going to PSU. The same might apply for Hauck going to the Dome.

I don't believe Hauck is going anywhere. Every time the rumor mill has started, he's shown a tendency to take a look-see and then stay put. That's probably what's going to happen here.

Could be true... but, I seriously, seriously doubt it. I was shocked that thier 35,000 against West Virginia set their attendance record... ~4,000 more than Appalachian's home record. That's pathetic for a #5 team in a BCS conference. He's barely in the top 50 highest paid coaches. Cincy will either have to come up with a whole lot more money... or he's gone imo.
Brian Kelly, who has coached Cincinnati's football team to a 12-0 record this season and a berth in the Sugar Bowl, will be the new coach at Notre Dame, two sources have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Actually, latest word from last Sunday's Milwaukee Sentinel is that Hauck's on the list for Cincinnati.

Not a big surprise if they do grab Kelly. I hope Weiss ends up back in New England as OC.
