Good seeing Bench, Mountain Man, and Appaholic today. I'm sure I improved their days for them.
Appa is gettin' skinny girls, so you gotta watch out for him - very cool wife also. Bench needs a haircut, and Mtn. Man is the ASU posterboy with the beard and such.... good time, good win in spite of what the weather threw at us.

Notes from GoASU:
Armanti Edwards became the first player in NCAA Division I history (FCS or FBS) to amass 9,000 passing yards and 4,000 rushing yards in a career. He achieved the historic feat when he broke the 9,000-yard passing barrier with a 14-yard completion to CoCo Hillary midway through the second quarter.
Edwards vaulted from sixth to fourth in NCAA Division I FCS history with 13,316 yards of total offense in his career (9,184 passing, 4,132 rushing). Just last week, Edwards had joined Missouri’s Brad Smith (2002-05) as the only players in Division I history with 8,000 passing yards and 4,000 rushing yards in a career.
Appalachian’s 17-consecutive conference wins are the most by a SoCon program in 50 years (West Virginia’s record 30-game SoCon winning streak, 1952-1959)
The Mountaineers have claimed consecutive wins in Greenville for the first time in the history of the ASU-Furman series, which dates back to 1971 … ASU defeated FU for the fifth-straight time, extending its longest winning streak in series history.
Furman fell to 1-8 against the Mountaineers under head coach Bobby Lamb.
The game was played in a steady rain throughout, marking the fifth time in eight games this season that Appalachian has braved the rain.

The big question for me is...does Jon think ASU is a top-10 team now? We continue to roll up gaudy offensive numbers and AE continues to make opposing defenses look like 4 year olds. Come on, Jon. Jump back on the bandwagon.

Furman fans were booing their team after it became 21-0.
I thought long and hard about the on-side kick. The only reason to do it was because Lamb new our defense wouldn't stop you and the only way we could win was to have more possessions than ASU. If that is why then it was good that he recognized, but bad that he had to. Still a very risky thing to do since we won the toss and deferred. If we had lost that toss, I would have said fine. Since we won the toss we should have kept the ball and then could have decided on the on-side at the start of the second half.
Not sure how I feel about it but I expect FU to have a new coach next season.

IT certainly has been a bad run against our most disliked rivals. I might be wrong but I think Bobby is 2-5 against GSU. ASU you might could understand but this has not been a stellar period for GSU.

As much as I hate FU and the Stink, I do hope the teams get turned around. It's good for all three schools involved (and the SoCon as a whole) for the big three to all compete and be at the tops in FCS. When I was in college (99 - 03) it was a time where the big three always competed (and GSU seemed to win everything), but sprinkle in a couple of wins against GSU and the "Miracle on the Mountain" and that was some good times for the SoCon.bobbythekidd wrote:And that's being kind.OL FU wrote:IT certainly has been a bad run against our most disliked rivals. I erred, Lamb is 3-4 against GSU. I forgot the Van Goober year.
