Catholics. Even worse.
To any AGS mods who come over here, get rid of GOD 33 or your web site will perish, that thing is a cancer within AGS, have a conference, hold a sit down, gather for a pow wow, do what you have to do, but whatever you do remove ASSHOLE 33 from his position.

AGS isn't going anywhere. That site gets a ton of traffic, its poll is now being referenced by places like the UD website, and there is a lot of good, timely info there and in mass quantity.

That being said, the mods are terribly inconsistent, cherrypicking the folks they want to fuck with. When you become one of those people there is no point in trying to have fruitful discussion anymore. I got three infractions in the past month or so for posting a bikini picture, using an acronym with an "F" in it, and for supposedly offending some religion (not sure which) by saying I'm glad I'm not part of a religion where I have to fast because I like to stuff my fucking face on holidays. Next, I get listed as a poll choice in a thread of who is the most liberal poster on AGS. OK, I'm not a lib, but funny ha, ha, I don't let FoxNews lead me like most of the Republicans there so I guess I'm a lib. Someone makes a comment about who should be on the list of ultra-right wing nutjobs and I responded "Rush Limbaugh, The Pope, and Hitler" with a winky face, and then I get flamed. What a bunch of spineless fucks.

I think you said it pretty well. AGS is not going anywhere - it will be just fine. But it has changed, and the people who liked the old AGS need to either adjust to the new one, or move on.

CS.com made moving on the easy choice for me.

Closing down the poli wing like that is a big mistake, IMHO. But watch the schadenfreude, boys: AGS is still light years ahead of this board in terms of football chat and participation.

Yes it is, but this site is growing leaps and bounds. There will always be an AGS, with lots of members and good discussion, but this site is closing the gap each season.

Did someone answer, did AGS Actually close the poly board?

Yes, it's closed. I learned for the first time when I logged in this morning.

I saw the thread asking about it, but haven't seen anything "official". Not that I would, but one would think............

Wow, I'm suprised. I think this will hurt AGS, although they may not notice it until football season is over. Also, they may reinstate the Poli board by then.

AGS seems to be trying to become a no-nonsense, football discussion only message board. No doubt that will appeal to many people, but stifling many of the more colorful posters/topics is not a good thing IMO.

Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

No -- because it is. Just look at the numbers, AZGF. The overall quantity and quality of the football threads on AGS is simply better, at least for now.

I think he's talking about the Poli board Ivy. It is clear that the football discussion here is making advances but we ain't at the level of AGS at this point. The fact that we can even discuss being at that level is a major step up from the discussion that took place about football a year ago. Way more diverse topics with a lot more people adding to the discussion this time around. :thumb:

I doubt seriously Gannonfan would want the poly boards to go away. He generally is all over them.

Ursus, in no way do I intend to slam this board, which has made excellent strides and is becoming more diverse. My point was that CS folks should keep moving in the right direction and ignore the "speed bumps" that hit AGS from time to time. Otherwise, CS posters who persist in trashing AGS may come off as a bunch of whiners. In a way, I agree with AZGF's other thread: no more AGS threads!

It is what it is and the venting has diminished with time. This boards identity was about 50% AGS hate (mostly started and perpetuated by AZGF btw) but has been moving away from that in the past year. If you let the stuff go awaw on it's own then it will truly go away at some point and only be a sidenote in the history of the board but if you start forcing things on people then it ain't going away much like it has stayed a point of contention on AGS. If a mod here gets involved with stopping the discussion of AGS then they are doing nothing more than throwing another log on the fire whereas if they stay the hell out of it, it will die a quicker death on it's own.

Most of us are very familiar with AGS and the fact that the poli board was shut down or having problem is interesting, and somewhat newsworthy to a lot of posters here. That is the main reason for the AGS flair up here today isn't it?

I also didn't think you were bashing this board at all. :thumb:

I have been a member pretty much from the start but one of the main reasons I participate more is because the AGS hate part of this board has slowed tremendously. (And there are a lot of really cool posters here) It usually picks back up when a AGS member gets dinged or banned and vents or when a major stumble occurs at AGS ( like the one that is apparently occurring now). But like I said, the decrease in the drama about AGS has made the board much more attractive.

I think AGS is implementing a pay to use deal with the poli wing. It was previously discussed and with a new fundraising drive recently started it makes sense timing wise.

agsadmin said that he is waiting for a statement to be released by the owner of AGS regarding the disappearance of the poli lounge... this suggests its a detailed statement which would suggest something more then just "its closed"
