That's all displaying the Confederate flag is, too. Freedom of expression. It's not 1865 any more. And as FU so eloquently stated in another thread, the vast majority of people who display the
Stars and Bars today don't do so to offend blacks. When I see the
Stars & Bars, I don't immediately think of slavery, the Civil War, or Dukes of Hazzard. And really, if blacks take offense to someone waving the
Stars and Bars, that's the BLACKS' issue, not the person displaying the flag.
But, once again, we as a country bow to the whims of the few. Once again, law abiding citizens and society as a whole are impacted by the actions of the .001%. Once again we, as a country, bend over backwards to suck off the minority and go overboard attempting to placate and appease. One racist goes on a shooting spree and SC folds like a cheap piano and will take down the flag. Walmart and Amazon immediately stop selling
Stars and Bars products. The Citadel is removing the flag. Suddenly--150 years AFTER the end of the Civil War, the
Stars & Bars are "bad" and must be cleansed from our history.
These **** knee-jerk reactions to one-off incidents....THAT'S why this country is going down the shitter. This has NOTHING to do with the Confederate flag....they're solving a "symptom" rather than the problem....but man, as a country we're REALLY good at that, aren't we? And we wonder why nothing ever changes....
