Listened to the NPR interview they did with the two women who authored the most recent book that the NYT ran with when they screwed up their story over the weekend. Good interview, and based on that and the book, it paints a fairly clear picture that we'll never know the true story of what Kavanaugh may have done and who, if anyone, assaulted Christine Blasely. You should branch out more and read and listen, things are always a lot more nuanced that you give it credit for.

As I've aged, I've realized it's pretty damn easy not to be accused of stuff...because I don't do it. And when I do something that bothers someone, it's easy to own up to it. Or understand why it bothered them.

Blasey had no reason to do what she did besides being a good American and doing her civic duty. Her life has been turned upside down since (and she acknowledged the risk before the confirmation); Kavanaugh is serving in the highest court.

Kavanaugh is a failed-rapist. That's his legacy. Thomas is an actual rapist. That's his.

So beyond the accusation you have that Thomas is an "actual rapist" (again, still looking for that rape allegation out there), you have somehow come to the conclusion, after years of introspection, that there are never cases of false accusation. Let me explain something to you that ALL YOUR YEARS of experience apparently still haven't taught you: The reason YOU are not "accused of stuff" is because YOU are irrelevant. YOU are not the one nominated for the Supreme Court in a highly volatile, highly political environment. Your irrelevancy acts as a protective cocoon around you despite your physical proximity to the cesspool that is Washington D.C.

If society can't get a civil or criminal trial; he'll have to endure the court of public opinion. It's all society has at its disposable when proper justice can't be given. Hopefully over time this changes and Kavanaugh and his ilk (including Trump) can face their day in court. At least Kavanaugh is young enough he might.
