Can't blame this one on the coaches. It was just (offensive) players pissing down their legs when it mattered.

Griz season is over. The chances of Montana making the playoffs are lower than Walter Mondale's chances of beating Ronald Reagan in 1984.
This game reminded me of the JMU game a couple years ago where JMU was probably the better team but self destructed.

That's what we saw today. Griz were the better team, but self destructed. As usual.

No. He's a Senior.

It will either be Jordan Johnson or a transfer (I'm hoping transfer since Johnson didn't impress me at all this year).
Johnson didn't get an opportunity to do anything yet. And it's not like Selle and Roper were gangbusters while this offense underwent growing pains

Perhaps not, but I figure there's a reason the coaches never let Johnson throw downfield. And his running wasn't that impressive, either.

Both teams have conference losses on the road. Our loss to a 9-2 MSU looks much better than MSU's loss to a 5-6 or 6-5 NAU. We also had a tougher non-conference schedule. We're also kicking the **** out of ISU, a team that took MSU to over-time. We're also ranked higher in the polls. Spin it how you want, though.

I honestly don't care, as long as we're in the top 5. :thumb:
No spin. As PSU found out in 2007, head to head means everything.

They beat y'all head to head and are the Big Sky autobid.
And? Is their some rule that states that a higher seed goes to the conference auto-bid?

No—Montana was #4 despite Weber being the auto in 2008—but I'm guessing the head-2-head will make the difference here.

Thought we were talking about the AQ. Didn't realize we were talking about a seed. My bad.

True, though PSU was better than other teams that got in IMO.

And it was 2006, BTW. Glanville was the coach in 2007.

Not sure what you're talking about, PSU was 3-8 in 2007? UM and EWU went to the play-offs in 2007.

Exactly. WTF does the auto-bid have to do with seedings?

How does the "bidding" process work when comparing seeds and home games? I know MSU outbid a lot of teams for the home game against Furman a few years back but it wasn't for a seed.

Sorry, PSU game today is giving me a headache. 2006 is what I meant.

I'm not doing to well today.

No. But, y'all were arguing whose lost to the worst team, who had a tougher non conference schedule, etc. etc.

That stuff doesn't matter if they beat y'all head to head, imo.

I think this year if you are the top 4 maybe 5 seeds this year with 20 teams, that you get home game and a bye week. Since MSU is the AQ we should be seeded and get a home game. EWU should get a seed ahead of a conference champion and home game and bye week.

After that it comes down to regions and money for at-large teams. Don't think you play team in same conference the first week. Then the team with the best bid in a region will get the home game. ie Cal Poly going to Montana a few years ago.

Mostly it is about the money. Which may mean that Griz get in.

We're in the same position, the only difference is that you've got the auto-bid........we'll still get a top 5 seed, and even if MSU gets a higher seed, it won't be the #1 seed. Also, our Big Sky Championship means the same as yours.

So tell me again, what are we supposed to be envious of?

Ok, so you're assuming that the #8 team in the polls gets a higher seed than the #3 team in the polls - because they won head to head? Gotcha.

The polls have no bearing the the seeding process. Usually, when 2 teams have the same record head to head is the tie breaker. My guess is that will be the case here and MSU will get a higher seed than EWU.

Can both EWU and MSU get a bye? Will they?

If it were me I'd give MSU the nod over EWU due to the head to head. Both finished the season strong.

I doubt very much that the human polls matter at this point - IMO, EWU and MSU are very close. Both should be seeded and I think you can make a good case for either team getting the better seed (EWU stronger schedule, MSU head-to-head W). MSU's road win over UM will help them a hell of a lot more in the computer polls that go into the GPI than will EWU's home win over Idaho State.

Bullshit. MSU may very well get a higher seed, but you can't tell me that the polls have nothing to do with how seeds are determined. :tothehand:

There is no way if I was co-champ and lost to the other co-champ would I ever celebrate it like some of you guys are. That is just pathetic.

Oh and AZgriz, you really think the better team lost? Better teams dont fumble in the red zone, dont throw picks at the other team's 30. Dont give me that BS. The better team won, accept it move on.

No way the griz should be in the playoffs with 6 D-1 wins and losing 2 of their last 3. The griz are definitely not the top 6 D-1 team hoping to get in. There are others that would be ahead of you.

The top 12 teams get a bye and both EWU and MSU will be in the top 12. Where in the top 12 is the question.

Assuming that there are no upsets:
The top 2 seeds play three home games and then the FCS championship (neutral field) game.
Seeds 3 and 4 play two home games and then a road game and then the NC game
Seeds 5 thru 8 play one home game and then 2 road games and then the NC game
Seeds 9 thru 12 play three road games and then the NC game
Seeds 13-16 play a home game and then three road games and then the NC game
Seeds 17-20 play 4 road games and then the NC game

They don't. The polls are not prepared by the same people that do the seeding. Usually they match pretty closely, so the top team in the polls is also the top seeded team, but that is not a requirement.
