Did I sum it correctly?
Are Americans really as naive about their view of "freedom and democracy" that they really think that simply creating a power vacuum in a region that was under absolute control by a dictator and expecting everything to be all rainbows and unicorns?

Obama took out Cwadoofy and tried to take out Assad. He also helped take out the Egyptian President...and then helped take out that guy, too. Yup.
Apparently, Obushma thought things would be peachy and keen if he delivered Democracy to the huddled, oppressed masses. Hasn't worked for Libya, Syria, or Iraq...or Detroit.

1) The Iraqi people have no spine?SeattleGriz wrote:
1) I was simply just speculating it would take at least a generation to pass because Hussein was such a violent dictator, the people had no spine.
2) Figured it would take children growing up and being proud of their country to defend it with any sort of effort.

How so? Where was my thought process incorrect?
And violent dictators leave people with no spine? How about those Germans? Russians? Japanese? Chinese? All spineless?
2) Children growing up proud enough of their country to defend it? What country is that? Kurdistan? Sumeria? Babylon? Or are you referring to the mandated borders of 1920? In case you didn't notice, there are a heck of a lot of people defending areas in Iraq...though maybe you will grow up and out of your child like state in another generations' time to understand that they might not care about your idea of their, "country."
3) If someone attacked the US, you'd see the majority of people fleeing battle areas and running for cover...and we'd have our shares of defectors within the military, too. Flashback: during WWI, civilized countries, with so-called stable borders, and generations of proud people full of spines, had plenty of troops that needed to be encouraged, at gun point, to show a little effort at avoiding running for cover or defecting.
But hey, they were fighting for God and country, right?
However, it appears that I was wrong about you leaning on the Stupid button. Instead, it appears that you have it shoved way up your azz and stuck on the, "on" position. Maybe dback can help....he's had experience with that sort of thing.

The war on terror is not about eliminating terrorists. Otherwise, we'd be targeting wealthy Saudis and other contributors to the hard liners' cause.

Follow the money which is probably getting funded via the Saudis. You lop off the head there and you starve ISIS. If we could be more aggressive to get off the Saudi oil teat and develop our own resources this we could actually put a plan like this in motion.

Obama would rather go after the reporters and leakers who would disclose Obama's ties to anything that would tarnish his image, including pacifying the Saudis.
In that way, Obama is no different than the tyrants he chastises (notice Obama isn't chastising Bahrain's leaders, Saudi's leaders, and just about any other Middle Eastern reigning family).

The thing is that ISIS has stolen hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and gold when they rolled through Iraq. They also control enough of the oil fields to where they are making about $3M per day just by selling crude oil.ASUG8 wrote:Follow the money which is probably getting funded via the Saudis.
