Fuck Johnson....actually...I loved the Kesleoskeoski (sp) spin and crash. Fuck him. He has become someone I root against more and more. FUCK HIM.

I tried to root for Keselowski early in his career, but he's not a very likeable guy.grizzaholic wrote:Fuck Johnson....actually...I loved the Kesleoskeoski (sp) spin and crash. Fuck him. He has become someone I root against more and more. FUCK HIM.
He's sort of the opposite of Carl Edwards, who I tried my hardest not to like, but is one heckuva likable dude.

I don't like him either...but Jeff Gordon and BK should be wrecked in turn one every race.93henfan wrote:I tried to root for Keselowski early in his career, but he's not a very likeable guy.grizzaholic wrote:Fuck Johnson....actually...I loved the Kesleoskeoski (sp) spin and crash. In every interview and/or video he really has the pouty/angry/sereal killer face. He is really unlikable.

NOTICE: Speed channel Wednesday night 7:30pm MST. The trucks will be racing on a dirt track.

Time to attach the mud flaps.
NASCAR is set for an off-road detour through the dirt.
The Truck Series is headed for the Eldora Speedway half-mile dirt track for a one-night only special designed to reconnect NASCAR with its early roots and give fans raised on asphalt and stock cars a taste of the wild races run in the dust.
The last time one of NASCAR's top touring series competed on dirt was Sept. 30, 1970, when Richard Petty won a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (called the Grand National Division at that time) race at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
The dirt drought ends when the trucks race Wednesday night at Tony Stewart-owned Eldora in Rossburg, Ohio.

Re: NASCAR 2013 Discussion
I was watching practice tonight. They should have changed the rules for this race to allow a dirt track bias setup to the trucks. If you watch much local dirt track racing wherever you live, you'll notice the cars have the chassis shifted right with bigger tires on the right so they can slide (or for you youngsters, drift) through the turn. The poor bastards driving the trucks at Eldora tonight had to really feather the throttle, lest they spin. They were hardly getting any slide at all.grizzaholic wrote:NOTICE: Speed channel Wednesday night 7:30pm MST. The trucks will be racing on a dirt track.

Re: NASCAR 2013 Discussion
Damn, can't believe no one has mentioned this yet. Really sucks- Stewart is one of the true ambassadors for the sport..
"Tony Stewart suffers broken leg in sprint car crash
OSKALOOSA, Iowa — Three-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart was hospitalized with a broken leg early Tuesday morning after crashing at a sprint car race in Iowa.
Stewart-Haas Racing spokesman Mike Arning said Stewart sustained a broken right tibia and fibula in a crash at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, where he underwent surgery.
Stewart will miss at least this weekend's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen; Arning said a replacement has not been named and it's unknown how long Stewart will be out overall. A test scheduled for Tuesday at Atlanta Motor Speedway has also been canceled.
"Our foremost concern is with Tony's health and recovery," NASCAR said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. "We're in close contact with his team and they will provide further information as it becomes available."
The driver/team owner was leading the 30-lap feature of the Front Row Challenge with five laps remaining when Josh Higday's car spun on Turn 4 and collected the top three cars — Stewart, Tasker Phillips and Tony Shilling.
Track officials said Stewart, 42, was conscious and talking to responders after being placed on a stretcher."

Those sprint cars just don't have the crumple zones, the carbon-fiber casts custom-fitted to the driver and the custom seats and safety harnesses like Sprint Cup stock cars have. A couple of drivers even died on dirt tracks last weekend. It was a freak spike in dirt track mishaps.
Nothing Tony could do. Dude was stopped halfway through the turn, blind to Tony in the straight, and he was already in his slide by the time he would have seen him. Youch.

Ryan Newman took the lead near the end of the race. Had he won, he was in as a wildcard by virtue of a win and Martin Truex was out, plain and simple. Truex's MWR teammate Clint Bowyer, most likely, intentionally spun with under 10 laps to go, which forced Newman to pit, because several drivers went in for tires and Newman was a dead duck. There is also the possibility that Jeff Gordon could have snuck in depending on where Newman and Truex finished.
The video shows no flat tire happening before Bowyer spun. Car audio reveals that Bowyers crew chief said: "Thirty-nine [Newman] is going to win the race. Is your arm starting to hurt? I bet it's hot in there. Itch it."
Here's where it gets even more devious. The crew chiefs instructed both Bowyer and Brian Vickers to pit so Joey Logano could move up two spots. That was perhaps two points of decrease to Gordon who missed out by one point.
Now, what do I think NASCAR might do? I could see them booting Truex for Newman, though the possibility is remote. I think it's even more remote a possibility that they boot Truex for Gordon. What is likely is that Bowyer will get a stiff penalty, maybe 25 to 50 points and a big fine. I don't think they'd issue the ultimate poison pill, which would be banning Bowyer and Truex from the postseason and letting both Newman and Gordon in. That would be the nuclear option.
Will be interesting to see what happens. I know this much: if NASCAR does nothing, both Newman and Gordon will see to it that no MWR car wins the Chase.

Re: NASCAR 2013 Discussion
I agree, the likely result is a fine and point deduction for Bowyer. NASCAR could put Newman and Gordon in the chase (without bumping anybody else), but I doubt that they will.93henfan wrote:Prepare for long story, but I was watching:DSUrocks07 wrote:Apparently theres some controversy regarding the end of the Richmond race and MWR.

I doubt we'll see any change to the 12. Team strategy is one thing, spinning yourself intentionally is disgraceful.

Quite possible. Regardless, I still think Bowyer gets a whopper of a penalty. There has to be discouragement of this happening again.
The more I think about it, the penaly should be at least 50 points. That's a whole race worth of points.
