He was a coach at Wilson's passing academy a few years ago. I can't find the photo, but there was one with Wilson and all the EWU players. Adams is almost exactly the same height, if not a half inch or less taller. The big knock with Adams will be durability though, as he's not as stout as Wilson.SACCAT wrote:First off...VA walked by our tailgate last year, after they beat us (Bobcats) 51-50. It was a heart breaking loss for us, and when he walked by he made a point to come over and say "great game by the Cats, I really thought you had us, good luck this year" This was to MAJOR boosters and corporate sponsors. It was a classy move, and I won't forget it any time soon....
That being said....the kid is 5'10" at best, he will not be looked at by the NFL

When he went to Oregon, they confirmed his official height as 5'11.

Adams getting out-performed by his replacement so far.
Kupp is 8 for 160 and 1 TD. Best player on that field.

West goes out with cramps and RS Freshmen Reilly Hennessey has a nice drive including a great scramble and an audible to Kupp from 1st and goal for a TD.
VA answers back with TD.
I'm happy with our performance.

51-35 Oregon in the 3rd. Good showing so far for EWU.

Wonder if Baldwin reminded him that Adams still has friends on EWU's team and they may not let him on the bus. He'll get his moment on ESPN. I hope it was worth it.clenz wrote:So...that hit on Adams...

I don't think Baldwin was that upset about it, privately.JALMOND wrote:Wonder if Baldwin reminded him that Adams still has friends on EWU's team and they may not let him on the bus. He'll get his moment on ESPN. I hope it was worth it.clenz wrote:So...that hit on Adams...

Defender had already launched when Adams had started sliding. The helmet to helmet looked incidental to me. Baldwin is a class act though, and layed into the linebacker. He would never condone intentionally targeting/injuring an opposing player, regardless of the linebacker's intent.

I was happy with Eastern's performance overall. Tackling/wrapping up needed to be a lot better, but the offense looked great for the first game, especially against a Pac-12 opponent. Not worried about either West or Hennessy starting, both looked great. Kupp is still unstoppable, no matter who's throwing him the ball. Should be another good season... if the defense can rally, it could be great.

Adams 246 yards passing. Kupp 246 yards receiving. I wonder if they planned that.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Oregon is the FBS version of EWU.grizzaholic wrote:

I wouldn't be surprised if Kupp went in trying to match what VA threw. Dude's a competitor and OCD about mastering his craft.JALMOND wrote:Adams 246 yards passing. Kupp 246 yards receiving. I wonder if they planned that.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:

Yeah, Baldwin ran down the sideline in the middle of the game, got in Kreifel's face and chewed his ass in front the entire stadium...just for affect. He deserves an Oscar.clenz wrote:I don't think Baldwin was that upset about it, privately.JALMOND wrote:

Why do you think this way? Do you know Beau personally? Is it because you face us next week? Is that what would be in your own heart?

Re: Vernon Adams Scouting Report
Th replays I saw looked like the defender had launched just when Adams started sliding, then went up with his arms to hit him in the head. This day and age, you can't go up high on a defenseless player, let alone a quarterback. Also, the officials did not throw out the player until they saw the replay. As was pointed out to us when they reviewed PSU interception at Washington State, every Pac-12 stadium is equipped with cameras to cover every inch of the field so they don't miss anything upon review. If there was anything to see to keep the player in the game, I'm sure they would have. But the officials, after seeing the replay, deemed the play severe enough to warrant an ejection.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Defender had already launched when Adams had started sliding. I like VA, I think he's a great player.. I want him to be successful..... BUT transferring to Oregon *the way he did* stings. And the fact that they played each other in the first game of the season also stings! Not to mention EWU probably would have beat Oregon with VA. Now EWU is screwed!
Also, the targeting ejection was not fair to the EWU player bc there wasn't any helmet to helmet contact. Just hyper sensitive refs!
When it comes to this transfer rule.... EWU got fcked, BIG TIME!

Eh, the player benefits from this rule, so I'm fine with it. He graduated early from college, not sure why he should be punished or owe EWU anything more than he gave them.BlackFalkin wrote:I like VA, I think he's a great player..
