I just read through the thread and I disagree with a lot that's been said. I think EIU was a legitimately great team this year; they beat a solid MWC program in SDSU and took #23 NIU to the wire. This is the playoffs - someone had to lose. However, it didn't mean EIU was a paper tiger.

That said, congrats Torson!

Please forgive me for disagreeing with Allah....EIU was just that, a paper Tiger that a REAL Tiger dominated.

Their D-Line, on the other hand… they looked to be made of paper. :ohno:

They had a great offense, but needed a better defense to be a great team.

I agree, but they were not a top 5 team, I've said that all year and I still feel pretty good saying that.

I think EIU's performance Friday had a lot to do with the fact they hadn't played a close game since September. I'm not really talking strength-of-schedule, either—just the fact they had nothing but sweat-free blowouts. We saw the same thing happen with Georgia Southern & Southern Illinois back in 2004. Those two teams blew out nearly everyone, but couldn't win close games & lost when they got punched in the mouth in the first round (to UNH & EWU respectively).

Eastern Illinois's lack of mental toughness Friday surprised me. Their offense got really rattled really quickly when their D started to falter. Towson made some defensive adjustments, but Garoppolo was quite indecisive at times even when you could clearly see he had open receivers.

We continue to hear bias this and that, and it is unfounded. Now you know why we scoff at posters from the bullshit conferences.

CCU getting raped with a sandpaper dildo right now as well...
Exactly my thought as well.

The OVC got a gift to get their first win since 1999 this year when they had TSU get Butler. The OVC was gifted a second win when EIU was given the winner of the TSU/Butler game.

CCU is a good team but Montana wasn't what their record showed they were.

Jacksonville State shocked me with beating McNeese State but then again I watched UNI throttle McNeese by 35 (41-6) and pulled the starters midway through the 4th and pulled the foot off the gas in the third. MSU didn't score until late in the third when UNI already had a 24-0 lead. However, they are about to get throttled by the only "real" team out of the Big Sky.
Much like NDSU is the only "real" team out of the MVFC?

Big Sky?

Then again, I guess we are 3-0 vs. the MVFC in the playoffs since 2010.

You don't appear to take compliments very well ;)

According to AZgriz, NDSU is the only "real" team in the MVFC. SDSU, 2nd place MVFC defeated NAU, 2nd place Big Sky, therefore if SDSU is not a "real" team then NAU is not a "real" team and trickle that down. EWU and NDSU are the only "real" teams in their respective conference using AZGriz logic.
