I think any Blue Hen fan on this site would agree with me in saying you replace him with NOBODY on UD's current staff. That's been done before & was a disaster. Not only does UD need to go outside (keep in mind Hofher was an outside hire), they need to give the keys to the new hire & let him implement a new system. Look at UD's run game this year - 3.5 yds per carry, only URI was worse in CAA play. That's inexcusable & set up because of our offensive schemes or lack thereof.
If Hofher was a outside hire why would you do the exact same thing if he isn't working out?????

UD needs a dose of an outsider & to let the outsider run HIS system, not the current UD system. Since Keeler took over we've had 3 OC's but the offense was the same under all three. Time to CHANGE.

I was thinking about that very thing this morning. A lot of the Chicken Littles at gohens aren't seeing what could be the real issue. When Tubby Raymond was recruiting, all he had to do was show them a 20k seat stadium and let Delaware tradition speak for itself. Don't get me wrong, Tubby helped build the program into what it was, but he stayed on a little too long IMO which allowed the administration to stick with the status quo too long. Other Yankee/A10/CAA teams started putting money into their program to catch up with the Hens but the Hens have done NOTHING to try to stay ahead. Delaware has very little competitive advantage when it comes to recruiting these days. JMU has a more attractive stadium now. ODU has more season ticket holders. W&M has the veteran coach and improved practice facilities. Maine and UNH get to be on TV. Cripes, Towson had their own pre-season show on MASN. Times have changed everywhere... except Newark. This new AD had better get this train off the platform quickly or it's going to get worse.

I think the high water mark for season tickets was 2008 when we were in the mid-11Ks. This has dropped by about 4K to the mid-7Ks. After this season, it wouldn't surprise me to see it drop to around 5K. 2012 was that bad. It was excruciating to watch. Several STHs have stated on GoHens that they are done. I am done. I will be letting my three season tickets go. The only entertainment I get at games any more is booing Keeler. That's what it's come to.

I will sit it out until Keeler is gone or until he sets up a system that allows his assistants to flourish. I may catch a game or two here and there. God knows plenty of good seats are available at rock bottom single digit pricing. Why should I shell out mandatory donations and high ticket and parking prices when I am being undercut by people in the next section over paying $9/game?

The two most entertaining games I attended this season were not in Newark, which is fucking sad.

I'll probably never give up my tickets, but I hear the frustration.

It's just all very stale. Agreed the new AD needs to find something to light a fire. Maybe our basketball season can be a catalyst for the rest of the department. Football sure didn't set the tone.

Over the past 30 years.. the UD administration has had all the vision of a coma patient. They have benefited from the golden goose that was UD football for a very long time and yet UD never felt the need to reinvest in the program that was laying the golden eggs. Slow to react doesn't begin to describe the UD administration and the term 'proactive' is a concept that doesn't exist at the University of Delaware.

Yep. That's what UD tailgating was like four years ago before the exodus and the now half empty Gold lot (where I am/was).

I'm not going anywhere Bill. I'll still be at games that appear to be potentially exciting or that mean something, and once the program is no longer a disgrace and the atmosphere outside the stadium is fun again, I'll consider getting season tickets again. Call me a fair weather fan, I don't care. It's my money. It's also the 50% of the STHs who will have left's money as well. Keeler is destroying the program.

I hope to come back as a STH in a few years. My departure had nothing to do with the bad seasons. Mine was all related to my kids. At 16, my daughter has little interest in driving 200 miles round trip to watch football.

Haha, your daughter is 16. That's legal in Maryland.

Sorry I made you vomit 89.

No need for the name calling Bill. Some people just aren't built to last through tough times. The world is filled with soft people, many of whom bleed once per month depending upon the health of their menstrual cycle.

So I'll either see you for eating some crabs before the season or in the church lot in Annapolis I guess.

Speaking of women, I didn't see either of you up at Amherst for the last UMass game or down in Norfolk for the ODU game. But I guess I'm the woman who doesn't get out much like you men of the world.

In all seriousness though, I like good football. That's why I drove to Statesboro a few weeks ago. That's why I drove to Norfolk the week before that. That's why I've been to Chatty and Frisco. I like to see teams with coaches who know what they're doing and who appear to give a shit about their programs, traditions, and fan base, and who can even coach their way out of a box during halftime and make a second half adjustment or two. That's why I am going to watch Wesley on Saturday. That's why I really hope to see GSU at ODU in Norfolk in 17 days. Good football gets the blood pumping. The "glory hole" that KC Keeler runs these days does not particularly excite me. :twocents:
